Show The Leader unenfoii Way Canyon from East Garland Way Austin Family Reunion Honors Mrs. Lcda Bowman Donetta Is Scene Of 24th Celebration BY ESSIE PETERSON Celebrating the 24th of July at Donetta were Mr. Mr. and Mrs. Tony Oliv-ieof Garden Grove, California spent the weekend of the 24th of July with Joyce Mr. and Mrs. Jack Austin were hosts to the Austin family reunion Sunday at their home. It was also to honor their mother, Mrs. Leda Bowman on her birthday. There were 63 family members present to join in the fun. Mr. and Mrs. Randy Austin of Bountiful came Friday for the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. John Austin came Monday for a couple of days. John Elmer, who underwent heart surgery in California is very much improved and is back in the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake. Oliver Davis is in the hospital for treatment. Orpha Oyler spent several days in the Logan Hospital for a nose hemmorhage. Mr. and Mrs. Orval Graver are back home after a month in Europe, mostly in Scandinavia. They, with Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Petersen of Tremonton were with a tour whose primary purpose was for geneology. They landed in Copenhagen, Denmark then by train to Fredricks- - ri and Mrs. Alan Barfuss and family; Mr. Grant Thompson and daughter, DeAnn; Mr. and Mrs. Dennis s and family; Mr. and Hawkes and family. They are friends of the family for Bar-fus- over 20 years. They went to Bear Lake, Stone Rodeo, Tony's Grove, bowling and golfing in town. This is the first time Mr. and Mrs. Olivieri have been in a small community and were amazed at the friendliness and kindness of the people. Mr. and Mrs. Carl D. Rich from Clifton, Illinois have spent the past ten days with the Fred G. Kenley family of Tremonton. Carl Rich was an airman assigned to the Crash and Fire Department at Wend-ove- r AFB under direction of Fred Kenley, who was base fire chief during the war. At this time Carl was cited twice for bravery during severe emergencies and received the Soldier's Bravery Medal for his heroic acts. Visiting with relatives in ;this area are Mr. and Mrs. Hess of Liberia, Afri-cMrs. Hess is the sister of IMrs. Carl Stenquist of son-in-la- jjfy haven on the northern tip of the Jutland Peninsula, then by boat to Oslo, Norway, by train up to Bergen. By ship through the fjords of the Norwegian coast. By train they went to Stockholm, Sweden, then by train which was ferried across to Copenhagen. Then their travels took them down through western Europe with stops in Hamburg, Germany; Holland; Amsterdam, Brussels, Belgium; Paris, France; Barcelona, Spain; the French Riviera, Monte Carlo; Milan, Italy; SwitzerInsbruck, land; Germany and a cruise up the Rhine River then back to Copenhagen where they flew non-sto- p to Salt Lake City by Finn-Ai- r. Mrs. Essie Peterson attended Sacrament meeting in Bear River City Sunday noon as the speaker on the D.U.P. Progam. She gave the history of the Northwestern Tribe of Shoshone Indians. Sherilyn Jackson, with 2 girl friends from Vernal left for home in Carbondale, California Friday evening. Friday afternoon she took Mrs. Holman to Logan to visit Mrs. Karen Hansen. Sunday afternoon Mrs. Holman was visited by friends from Oakdale, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Walker and their son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Walker of Provo who is a high school coach. Mr. and Mrs. Merlyn King, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Verlyn King and their families were in Logan Tuesday to Friday and visited Gerald's grandfather, Henry Buck. Ann Larson and a friend, Paula Crankovich came up from Salt Lake for the 24th holiday and spent the day , and evening with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Larson. Dale and his family of Pocatello joined them Saturday evening and stay-t- o Sunday evening. Mrs. Arthur Marriott and daughter, Arline Hales and children were in Brigham City Friday. Wednesday she was in Brigham City and visited her sister and Mr. Mrs. Maurine Nelson and girls of Corinne visited her mother, Mrs. Ruth Rampton Thursday. Another daughter, Mrs. Elaine Cullimore was here also. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rampton and family spent the weekend in Castle Dale with her mother, Mrs. Edna Wilburg where they had a family Carrie Rhodes spent the week in Provo attending a Youth Conference. The family drove down Saturday and picked her up. The Scouts spent the week at Scout Camp Loll in Wyo- -' ming. Assisting with transwere Vaughn portation Rhodes, Kerry Austin, Bob Meyer and Randy Grover. Allen Sorensen of Bountiful spent Friday night and Saturday night with his mother, Mrs. Lititia and Mrs. Bud Coff. Mr. , and Mrs. Howard Maughan were in Yellowstone for a week and spent some time at Fishing Bridge.
