Last year's Searchlight staff received a first place recognition in the same competition held last year. However, last year high schools from different states competed separately. The decision of Rick's College was based on two consecutive issues published in consecutive months at Bear River high. Bear River high school's newspaper, "The Searchlight," was recently named second place overall winner in a journalism contest sponsored by Rick's College. The annual contest entered this year included competition from high schools in Montana, Wyoming, Idaho and Utah. Each school participated against schools having similar enrollments. We doing it.
