Show I THE Good Cook's Corner r v - 1 health. Tney both arc just as busy and active as anyone could possibly be and really enjoy just getting up to a near day together! They take advantage of all the activities our Senior Citizens Center provides and enjoy the trips and tours arouadour area and the surrounding states. They are currently learning the techniques of liquid embroidery at the Center and are working on some very pretty tea towel projects for some lucky relative or friend! The w hislers have shared a eomm i inter st in collecting antique furniture, glass, and accessories for many years and their home is beautifully decorated with many, many cherished pieces. Just a phone call would probably suffice to give you a chance to see all their lovely things. John and Evalyne hare four children. Paul lives in Las Vegas and has three children. Gary is ki Reno and is the father of five children. Sandra lives in Thatcher and has five youngsters. Dennis, the youngest, just graduated from Bible College and is Assistant nrnister at the First Christian Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Most of their children's school years were spen. in Las Vegas, Nevada, although Salt Lake was the final stop before moving here. and Evalyne loves her d.ughtrs-in-la- w and tells me that daughter-in-la- w Joanne gave her such constant and care during all those loving day-tiyears of illness so John could go to his Dispatching duties. Sandra is especially grateful for Joanne's help as she was in Alaska with Dennis most of the time her Mom was so ill. All in all, Pd say that Senior Citizen Whislers enjoy a rich and rewarding retirement life with their children, grandchildren (who spend a lot of time at Grandmas) and one another, wouldn't you? By the way, Evalyne has a couple of helpfull hints for us: (the refrigerator slaw is absolutely delicious) The slaw will keep several weeks in a tightly covered container in the refrigerator. Site also says that the egg and the pinch of salt take away the excessive tang that many people associate with rhubarb pie. Piease try these recipes, ladies! The Mendoza's will spend two weeks visiting before returning to their home in Los Angeles, California. John and Evalyne moved here from Salt Lake about four years ago to be closer to their only daughter. John is a retired train dispatcher for th? Union Pacific Kailroad and the family moved arojnd a lot through the years. Kvalyne says tins was a big factor in learning to depend on each other for their interests and companionship rather than depending so much on friends or relatives. Evalyne and John Ahislerof Tremonton are a good example of the happy, productive life a couple can make for themselves in their retirement years. That old adage, "a man works from r.ui to sun but a woman's work is never djrw" is not true in the Whisler household. John shares all the household duties with Kvalyne and she shares his yard and garden work and even helps with his carpentry repairs. They both enjoy doing handiwork and working together on needlepoint projects for each of their children for Xmas giving. Kvalyne has made numerous needlework pictures, crewel embroidery pillows, patchwork pillows All the pictures are beautifully etc. framed and hung throuhut her home and the homes of family momliers. slie also knits and crochets many projects for her Children and grandchildren.
