To bendhiswill to mine, or try to shape him through some mold Of thought. Naturally, as a flower, he must unfold. Yet, flowers have the discipline of wind and rain; And, though I know it gives the gardener pain, I've seen him use his pruning shears to gain Strength and beauty for blossoms rare. Thus he tends iwhat's in his care, Like the Master-florifashions his lilies fair. I do not know, yet it seems to me That only weeds are left to unfold naturally! I The Editor Dear Editor: As president of the Garland Lions Club I wish to announce that the Garland Lions, in cooperation with 11,000 other Lions Clubs are undertaking a nation (wide "Register To Vote" drive that will visit every home in the United States. The Lions International is undertaking this drive as a public service because apathy of the D3 may well be the loss of the right to vote. The Garland Club is planning an extensive campaign that will get under way iwell before October the 11th, the next registration date, and will continue right up to November 1st, the last opportunity to register and vote for the men or party of your choice. The stakes are too high; the price is too great to trust the future of the youth of today to a majority of a minority. Devers C. Owens.
