Home From France Eldon Hess who has been stationed in France with the Army for the past several months is here on an emergency furlough for a month to be with his father, Emery Hess, who is seriously ill. A 2C LaMont Roundy of Lake Charles, La., and his wife and Mrs. Mildred Clegg of Bay- town, Texas are spending a couple of weeks at the home of LaMont's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Burnell Roundy and family. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Emery Hess and family and Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Hess and other relatives in the valley this week are Mr. and Mrs. Bert Thomas of Selah, Wash., and Mr. and Mrs. Willard Keith of Wapato, De-Ve- re Program The Social Development Club met at the home of Mrs. Voylet afternoon Grover Thursday where they enjoyed a program presented by a group of High School students. Judy Deakin, Janet Thompson and Marilyn Hendricks favored with trios accompanied by DeAnna Garfield at the piano. The Christen-sesisters Pamela, Tamara and Nanette sang trios, Florence Roberts gave two humorous readings, and Marilyn Hendricks sang a solo. A tasty luncheon was served to 15 guests. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Munson Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hayward of Bountiful. Willis Fryer Mr. and Mrs. spent Sunday visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Fryer and family at Clearfield. Mrs. Noble Petersen accompanied by her daughter. Miss Betty Petersen of Rexburg, Ida., at Salt conference attended Lake City over the weekend. Hold Birthday Party The Future Progress Guild met at the Church Building Thursday along with their partners for their annual Birthday Club party. The Entertainment Committee had charge of the games. An organized Pot Luck supper was enjoyed by about fifty. The tables were attractively decorated with an Easter Theme, each one present had a piece of delicious birthday cake. Mr. and Mrs. Mondell Weber and family of Salt Lake City visited at the Frank Cannon home last week. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cannon left the latter part of the week for a vacation trip to San Diego where they with visit with their son Chester Cannon and family. Join In Family Reunion The entire Earl family, brothers and sisters of Josie Bourne met in Salt Lake City for a family get together Saturday. The family members came from Utah and California. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Whit-ake- r and three daughters came Saturday from Seattle. Wash., to visit Mr. and Mrs. Henry Tubbs and friends and relatives from all over the valley and Brigham City. Hadfield the first part of the week. They were just returning from Sun Valley where Jon had been in a skiing competition. He had been in Bovv-cu- Denver where he competed also.
