Show Paintings Of Elick Sorensen To be Shown Elick J. Sorensen, Mar Vista, Calif, will be at the Brigham City Art center, Saturday evening for a showing to the publio of the 50 paintings he has donated to the Art Center. It will begin at 7:30 p.m. Mr. and Mrs. Sorensen will be leaving soon for a mission to Sweden. Mr. Sorensen was born and raised in Bear River City. He lived there until after his marriage and then was employed by the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. The Sor ensens lived in Brigham City, Ogden and in Salt Lake City. April By presidential proclamation, the current drive of the American Red Cross has been extended to April 15, according to John Laws, local Red Cross chairman. Because of the great need of additional funds to care for the increased demands being made of the American Red Cross, due to the storm and hurricane disasters, as well as local services, President Eisenhower, has extended the drive until this later date. Red Cross workers are stressing the services which the relief organization is carrying on the local level. At the Bear River high school 60 girls are completing courses is home care of the sick and injured, and mother and baby care. Courses in first aid have also been given at Plymouth, Portagai and Howell. The local drive has been carried on by the Boy Scouts making a house to house canvas.
