Her doctor here said the doctors out there did a good job, said they saved her life, but that her arm might be stiff again. Mrs. Hawkins "was anxious to thank a local woman who helped with the little girl and who was kind to Bill Blatt-le- r of Colorado Springs. She had heard that this woman helped out so Mr. Hawkins could get away for a while. She also wanted to send her thanks and love of the little girl to the lady who sent books to the hospital. She explained how great the shock and loss was to her, and that she was too ill to come out at the time of the accident. She closed the letter by saying, "I hope and pray that God will bless each and every one for their goodness and kindness that was given my little one. The little girl was in the Valley hospital for several weeks last fall, after her parents were killed in an automobile accident. Mrs. Hawkins reports that the little girl had to have an operation on her left arm, as it was stiff in the elbow, and that the arm is still in a cast. The cast was removed from her legs on Nov. 2Cth, but she didn't try to walk until the 14th of Dec. "She can't walk very good, as she drags her right leg, but she gets around anyway", says the grandmother. The little girl is happy as can be with her grandmother, according to the letter, as she had lived with her so Iong.lt is home to her. Following is an excerpt from the letter: "She sure talks about you folks, and about giving her so much. She and Walter can't think of names, but she thinks Dr. Mohr is the only Dr., and she thinks The prelude and postlude were played by Wanda Johnson and the ward choir sang the first song, "I Know That My Redeemer Lives."
