The newly weds were honored at a reception following the wedding rites. They stood before an archway trimmed with lemon leaves, chrysanthemums and wedding bells to receive their guests. For the nuptial event, the bride was radiant in an original gown fashioned by her aunt, Mrs. Reid Allred of Price. A waltz length skirt of pleated-nylotulle was topped with an overskirt of imported Chantilly lace. Matching lace was used in the bodice with sweetheart neckline and draped shoulders. Her fingertip veil of illusion hung from a crown of seed pearls, and she carried a bouquet of bronze and pink chrysanthemums with varicolored leaves. Her attendants, Diane Nelson as maid of honor, Joan Carter, Eleanor Burnett and Norma Hector as bridesmaids wore identical gowns in shades of bronze and pink and carried bouquets of contrasting mums.
