Maxfield, Kaysville, state president. Several members from the Tremcnton Jaycees have already sent in reservations to Ogden. Young ladies from all parts of Bear River Valley will be welcomed as contestants, Mr. Halgren said. Civic, church and business groups are especially invited to sponsor a girl in the contest, he added. Canidates must be between the ages of 18 and 28, and must never have been married. Con testants must be high schoool graduates by September, 1954. Prizes Offered Prizes provided by local merchants will be given to each entrant, with a special prize being planned for the 'Miss Bear River Valley." "The contest is not strictly a bathing beauty show," the chairman said. Ratings will be made on the girl's charm, beauty, poise, intellect, personality and talent by a panel of judges. They will be judged in formals, street clothes and bathing suits. Show Planned An evening of entertainment will be staged in connection with the "Miss Bear River Valley" contest, according to the Junior Chamber of Commerce, sponsors of the event. Contestants will spend the entire day with contest officials and judges, participating in a luncheon and other events, and the public will be admitted to the evening show. All entrants will be properly chaperoned during the contest days at the local, state and national level. "Miss Utah" Contest The "Miss Utah" Pageant will be staged a week later, on Saturday, May 15, in Salt Lake City. The state winner will be entered in the "Miss America" finals in Altantic City later this year. Official entry forms for all interested candidates are available from Dennis Miller or Oraellen Redfield, Navajo Students To Appear in Fashion Show Intermountain School's annual fashion show will be held on April 26 at 7:30 p.m., in the School Auditorium. The public is cordially invited to this unusual annual event. The Navajo girls at Intermountain School produce thousands of garments of great variety as part of their home economics instruction, and as a way of helping the girls clothe themselves at least expense. This year, girls will be chosen to model various articles produced at each level of a five: Year Program. Articles produced by girls range from such items as laundry bags and aprons in the first year to uniforms and clothing appropiate to different vocations, made by the two advanced groups. 1-- state candidates for various offices in the state organization.
