Mrs, Eliza Sainsbury Godfrey left Saturday for Ogden after having spent the past ten months with her daughter and son-in-la- 4 Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Sutherland. Mrs. Godfrey suffered a broken leg several mon ths ago. She is going to be with another daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Art Cottle for the present. Mr and Mrs. Sutherland and Mr. and Mrs Cottle accompanied her to Ogden Saturday. Book Lore The Book Lore Cub met at the home of Mrs. Edith Welling Friday evening for their regular meeting. Mrs. Inez Brown of Garland gave an interesting review of the book "Time and Time Again," by James Hilton. Refreshments were served to seven club members and the following guests, Mrs. Eva Munson, Mrs. Millie Hodges and Mrs. Brown. The next meeting will be at the home of Ellen Capener on Mar. 3rd. Forrest, and Miss Bea Lott spent Sunday visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hastings and family at Row Pinochle Club The Pinochle Club met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Packer Saturday evening. A hot supper was served to sixteen. Prizes went to Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Garn, Mrs. Dean Coombs and . . J. Udy. M. Mrs. Madge Anderson entertained at a social at her home Tuesday afternoon. Fourteen ladies were present. Guests at the Glenn Seversen home last week were Mr. and Mrs. Bassinger of Salt Lake City and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Morris of Park Valley. Cottage Meeting The Elders and their partners held a Cottage Meeting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Verl Anderson Monday evening. Earl Oyler of Tremonton was the guest speaker and gave an interesting discussion on the New Missionary Plan. Light refreshments were served to about twenty six. Seth Wicox is staying with Mr. and Mrs. Darvel Garn while his parents are in California. Mr. and Mrs. John Owen spent the weekend visiting with Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Edgington at Salt Lake City. Holt .Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Effie Potter had charge of the program. Judge Lewis Jones of Brigham discussed Inherit ance and Tax Problems. Misses and Shauna Patsy Petersen Deakin favored with two flute duets Miss JaNae Zundel sang a solo accompanied by her mother at the piano. Refreshments were served to nineteen club members, guests on the program and Mrs. Tolverson of Neenah, Wis., Mrs. Mae Upton of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Elma Petersen. Mr. and Mrs. France Standing of Ogden spent Sunday with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Standing. Callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Hess Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Stuart of Clarkston, Mrs. Hazel Rogers of Garland, Mr. and Mrs. Percy Hess and family and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis MacFarland and family of Arimo, Ida. The occasion was Mr. Hess' birthday anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Sutherland and son, Glade spent Sun day with Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Goodsell and family at Newton. Mrs. Ralph Grover accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Verl Grover and family of Ogden spent Monday visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Berthal Crowther at Malad. Husbands Entertained The Future Progress Guild entertained their husbands at their Annual Birthday party held at the School Building Thursday evening. Club president Mrs. Elsie Welling presided. Mrs. Bonnie Garn had charge of the program. Luther Glenn of Tremonton sang a solo, a tap dance and song by Pamela, Loreta and Christine Erickson of Beaver Dam, Joyce Nicholas of Tremonton sang a solo, Eddie Gleason of East Garland favored with a song, Misses Fronk, Shumway and Miller of Tremonton gave some ballet numbers, Trixie Bjorn of Tremonton gave a reading. Smorgasbord was enjoved. Mrs. Eliza Godfrey is receiving medical care at the Valley Hospital this week. Family Birthdays A hot turkey dinner was enjoyed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Holt Saturday given in compliment to Mrs. Holt and Mervin Holt who were both celebrating their birthday niversaries. Hess spent Monday at Ogden visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Lemoine Hess and family. Breaks Leg Skiing Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Udy spent Sunday with their son, Lex at Salt Lake City.- Lex recieved a broken leg while skiing Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cannon attended funeral services for Mrs. Hazel Hill at Providence Monday. - Utah Thurftday. February 25, ISSC Mi. and Mrs. C. W. Bourne accompanied by Dr. and Mrs. H. C. Robinson of Farmington, and Mrs. Clara Potter and Mrs. Marie Homer of Salt Lake City spent the weekend at Nephi. On Monday, they attended funeral services for Harry Foote, a brother-in-laof Mrs. Bourne. Mr. and Mrs. William Hess and twin daughters were recent visitors at the W. J. Hess and Gardner Udy homes. In Naval Hospital Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Hess re. ceived word from their son Drex, that he was in the Naval Hospital in San Diego, Calil.. suffering from pneumonia. Mr. and Mrs. Preston Steed and son Rodney of Salt Lake City were weekend guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs.Earl Pearson. ' Mrs. Ivan Archibald went to Moses Lake, Washington Sunday, where she spent a week with her husband who has been up there for the past month working for the Sugar Company. They returned home Saturday. Family Honors Mother n Bishop and Mrs. Oleen and family were in Brigham City Sunday to attend a dinner for Mr. birthday Josephson's mother, Mrs. Sarah E. Josephson. Mrs. Josephson was celebrating her 87th birthday at the home of her son and daughter-in-law- , Mr. and Mrs. Karl Josephson. Mr. and Mrs. William J. Hess and Mrs. Gardner Udy visited relatives in Brigham City Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Whiting and Dan L. were in Crescent, Utah Sunday and Monday visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Oleen. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Archibald and Mrs. Leo Lamb visited their aunt, Mrs. Threece Marshall of Salt Lake City Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Harris and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Rudd and families visited over the weekend at the W. J. Rudd home. Mrs. Effie Estep and Mrs. Agnes Nielsen were In Logan Monday on business. They attended a wedding of a son of Mrs. Reynolds in San Diego, then visited relatives in El Segundo and Engle wood California. Mrs. Clarie Schoffield and children of Ogden were Monday visitors at the Ervin Hess home. Dean Lamb returned to his home Wednesday from the Valley hospital where he underwent an appendectomy. Mrs. Edith Smith is spending two weeks in California visiting with her children. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Udy and children were in Samaria, Ida., Sunday where they visited Mrs. Udy's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Atkinson. On Vacation Trip Mr. and Mrs. William J. Hess accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Carl Jensen of Brigham City to Arizona Friday. From there they will visit places of interest in Mexico and California. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Estep and daughter were weekend guests of the Steed Esteps. Mrs. Max Kunzler and new baby daughter returned to the home o Mrs. Kunzler's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gardner Udy Wednesday and will spend a few days with them before returning to their new home in Park Valley.
