Show Pag THE LEADER. 8 Sylvia S. Jensen Thursday. January Sx5f Promontory Woman Buried Buried At Trmonton. Utah Sylvia Schmucker Jensen, 46, was buried Wednesday afternoon in the Deweyville cemetery. She died Saturday at Cheyenne, Wyoming. Mrs. Jensen was born Sept. 4, 1906 at Swanton, Nebraska, a daughter of Mary and James She married C. Schmucker. of T. Jensen Deweyville, George August 9, 1929 at Swanton. They have operated a motel at Chey enne for the past two years. Surviving are her husband, one son, C. Neil Jensen and one daughter, Ula Rae Jensen, both of Cheyenne; two brothers, E. Schmucker and J. Schmucker, both of Swanton. Bishop Winford Barrus conducted the funeral at Deweyville Wednesday afternoon, and Let-ti- e D. Snow played the prelude and postlude. The invocation was offered by Clarence Fryer, and the Relief Society Singing Mothers sang, "God Under stands" was the opening number. They also sang, "Beyond the Sunset", at the close of the service. A vocal solo was sung by Keith Gardner titled, "In the Garden", and Carol Couch sang, "Little Mother". Speakers for the service were Horace Barnard, C. J. Dewey, and Bishop Barrus, and the benediction was given by Horace Gardner. Interment was in the Deweyville cemetery by Rogers mor, Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Petersen Larsen, 36, of Promontory, who died Thursday were conducted Tuesday in the Corinne ward chapel. Burial was in the Brigham City cemetery. She was born August 31 1916, at Thatcher, Box Elder county, a daughter of Peter C. Educated m Box O. Petersen. Elder county schools, she at tended Bear River High school and Seminary. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints, she worked in various church auxiliaries, including Relief Society, M.I.A and Sunday School, and serving as Primary president for five years. She was secretary of the Parent-Teach- Associa- er tion. She was married to Merle H. Larsen March 25, 1938. They made their home in Penrose and at Promontory. Survivors include her husband a daughter, Judy Ann; two Steven H. Larsen and sons, Brent H. Larsen; a stepmother, Amy P. Petersen, Thatcher; five sisters, Mrs. O. B. (Alice) Jensen, Thatcher; Mrs. Kenneth J. (Nora) Leslie, Belle Fourche, S. D.; Mrs. Jack (lone) Wynn Jr., Tremonton; Mrs. James (Leone) Wise, Layton, and Miss Dorothy Petersen, Salt Lake City, and two brothers, Ervin C. C. Petersen, Thatcher, and Peter C. C. Petersen, in the U. tuary. The grave was dedicated by S. Army in California. Kenneth Germer. ... Mr. and Mrs. Hurd sang the closing song, which was titled, "Face to Face", and Duane Newman gave the benediction. Burial was in the Riverview cemetery and Joseph Nelson dedicated the grave. Services For Wm. H. Elmer Held Tuesday Funeral services for William Heber Elmer, 83, who died Saturday, were conducted Tuesday afternoon in the Bear River Stake tabernacle, with Bishop Arthur Michaelis of the Garland First ward in charge. Speakers at the service were C. W. Wood, William J. E. Smith, and Bishop Michaelis. A biography of the life of Mr. Elmer was given by Barbara Anderson, and musical numbers given included a vocal duet, "That Silver Haired Daddy of Mine", by Evan Gee and " Culli-more.- January Clearance FEMININE FRILLS . . . Prayers for the service were given by George Linford and C. J. Wood, and Willard Wood dedicated the grave in the Garland cemetery. Burial was by Rogers Mortuary. Mr. Elmer was born Feb. 17, 1869 at Ogden, a son of William and Mary Ann Gheen Elmer. He was reared in Ogden, and married Ingabord Petersen in December, 1898 in the Salt Lake Temple.. They moved to Garland in 1909, and have lived there since then. Mr. Elmer was a ward teacher in the Garland ward for many years, and at the time of his death was a member of the High Priests quorum of the Bear River Stake. Surviving are three sons and one daughter, Albert, Esther, Frank and Jack Elmer, all of Garland; also six grandchildren and one great grandchild, and one sister, Mrs. Amanda Browning of Idaho Falls, Idaho. CARD OF THANKS It is with grateful hearts that we acknowledge the kind- ness and sympathy given us since the word was recevied of the death of our son in Korea. We deeply appreciate every word of sympathy and act of kindness during these trying weeks, and say thanks to every one who helped in any way at the service and burial.
