She had 9 brothers and sisters of whom she is the 1 organized Jr. Go'f Program. s Hal's have been: Rancher, Chicken farmer, Owner & Barber at Village Barber Shop (20 years), 30 years as a Boy Scouter (earned Silver Beaver Award), Owner & Estate Broker of Co., for 40 years, in many Civic Arts Theater Productions, sportsman: Hunting, fishing and golf. Owner and Guide for Camp and R.O.R. Hunting Guide, member of Beaver Wildlife Club and Volunteer Fireman and President of Beaver Jaycees. They have been willing to share their time, talents and resources freely for the betterment, enjoyment, quality and comfort of our citizens and community. Nell began singing at public functions at a very young age ' 1 and has sang at countless weddings, funerals, and civic activities (and is still). Hal joined her singing duets together for a while, as some of you Old Timers may recall. They have raised a family of 3 boys and girl, together with our wonderful school system, teachers and citizens of Beaver and are very successful in different careers. Nell's have been: High School and College Operas, she played French Horn in high school band and B.A.C. and Orchestra Orchestra. Three terms as Boy Scout Den Mother and earned Scouters Key, Ward Choir since age 15, organized Delano Diamond Chorus, sang with s quartet at Shrine Auditorum in California (make Record), organized Civic Arts Council and renovated old Court Room to accommodate plays and theater, instrumental in promoting Opera House and production of many Broadway Musicals. Producer and Director of: Brigadoon, Kiss Me Kate, South Pacific, My. 3 Angels, Camelot, helped many youth in singing and stage awareness, member of Beaver Jaycee Janes and T.N.T. Dance Club. Honors Plaques: 1989 SUU Honors recipient by Pres. Gerald Sherratt, 1992 Gov. Volunteers Award by Gov. Norm 1999 Beavers Bangerter, Woman of the Year (Beaver Betterment Club), 2002 Woman Achievement Award of Beaver County(Com. Contributions), Featured Vocalist (Utah State Senior Citizen Convention in Abravanel Hall in Salt Lake, . only survivor. Vina is a great cook and housekeeper. She has served in the Relief Society and Director of the Senior Center. She is an excellent quilter, making them for family members as well as lots of others. Her greatest service has been to crochet beautiful Handkerchiefs and place in of hands the them deceased ladies. She says she must have made hundreds of them over a span of 45 years. She has given them also to many friends and relatives. She still lives alone .and will be 95 in August. She has 2 children, 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 22 great, great, grandchildren. s 1 high-ligh- Connie Joann Grimshaw Connie & Joann Grimshaw were married August 1950 in the Manti Temple. Connie served in Korea with the 213th. Upon returning he built his own home and they have lived in Beaver ever since. They owned and Home Beaver operated Gift Shop, Furnishings, Joanns and Sears Catalog for over 20 years. Connie served 18 years as City Councilman and Project Manager for the Pressurized Water System and 20 years as Fire Chief. They were both E.M.T.'s for 23 years and Cove Fort Missionaries for 4 years. Connie was Project Manager for the Sons of Utah Pioneers and straightened over 700 headstones at the Beaver Cemetery. Joann has served for over 23 years in the Extraction Dept. at the Family History Center and is manager of the Hospital Gift Shop. Connie still has a successful Fire Equipment and Extinguisher business. They have 4 children, 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. They were a!3ys together until Gerald's death in March 2005. Jackie is an active member of the LDS Church and has been all her life. Some of the calling she enjoyed were Relief Society Second Counselor, Mutual Teacher and Primary Teacher. She is active in Daughters of Utah Pioneers, having served as President. She traveled to Denver, CO., and cities in UT as president of the Business and Professional it Womens before Club, to Beaver Betterment changed Club. Her passion is reading of which you can always find her with a book in her hands. She has been blessed with 12 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren as well as numerous and Step of whom she loves everyone of them and they certainly love her. Mom has been a great example to her children. We love you mom and thank you for all that you have done on our behalf. Adriene (Jackie) Mowers was Jackie Bom in Minersville March 11, 1927 to Ethel & Lloyd Mathews.' She attended school in Minersville and Beaver. Her first job was in Salt Lake City. She then moved back to Beaver and worked at the Dew Drop Inn. While working there she met and married Gerald S. Nowers, who was a Beaver City Policeman for 42 years. They were blessed with 4 children, Denna Ann, Geraldine, Gates & Michelle. She then worked at Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph where she work for many years. During her time at the Phone Company she remembers when they set off. the Atomic Bombs at the Nevada Test site and watching the reaction out of the phone company office windows, a site that she will never forget. She was the last operator in Beaver to run the switch board before they went to rotary dial phones. She then went back to waitress work first at the Elite Cafe, where during one deer hunt she remembered waiting on Johnny Cash dressed in Black and his friends. She also worked at the Dew Drop Inn, Meredith, Emils Bambi Cafes. After for many years she went to work at the Sewing Factory for Ross Low and then John Powell for years. She worked there until it closed it's doors-Sh- e finally retired in 1987. After retirement you could & El wait-ressi- Great-Grandchildr- Senior News It's hot outside. Call before noon to reserve your meal in Beaver in at and MinersvilleMilford at Last Saturday, July 15th we had 26 people from all over Beaver County head to Cedar for the Shakespearean Festival. The matinee of "On Golden Pond" was great and afterward we all had the Chinese Buffet. What a nice afternoon, everyone enjoyed it so much. The next trip to the Festival is scheduled for August 31st. Call the to Center Beaver sign...seats fast. are up. going The Beaver County Fair is sneaking upon us all too soon. Senior Day at the Fair is August 10th from noon to 6 p.m. Come out to the Fair, play bingo, view the exhibits, support the vendors, watch the opening ceremonies and then have dinner with us. The cost of the meal is $3.00 per plate and the cost for bingo is .50 per card. We have great prizes and a good time. During the month of June we held our annual fitness program called "Walk Across Beaver County". 13 participants received a pedometer and walked daily to improve their health. They recorded the number of steps daily and the monthly totals were astounding. The first place winner in'the 50 to 70 years olds was Leah Glenn with 537,554 steps for the month. Second place in that age group was Peggy Querry, third place was Viola Reynolds and fourth place was Helen Murchie. The first place winner in the 70 age bracket was Ed Querry with 410,774 steps. Second place in that bracket was Jim Sly, third place was Orvis Bowers and fourth place was Mel Prodzinski. The lucky winners received cash prizes for placing in the top three spots. Join us next year for our annual fitness program. Keep walking. ..it keeps you young and healthy. The new Milford Senior Center is looking fantastic. We are so excited to occupy the building. He is the grandson of Pat and the Rasmusson. late Roger Baldwin Reunion On Saturday, July 8, 2006, the family of Don and Carene gathered at the home of Kim & up Greg Solberg Canyon. Beaver people and one guest enjoyed a special dinner, fun and games. They came from Colorado, Provo, Cedar City and Flagstaff to be together. Everyone enjoyed the fresh mountain air and scenery. Numerous birds gather there to feed on seeds and sugar water put out for them. He was born on March 1, 1971 in Beaver, Utah to Randy Ned & Bonnie Rae Yardley Ruesch. He graduated from Beaver High School. He married Stacy Sonsalla July 22, 2002 in Beaver, Utah. Kenny was a great fan of motocross bikes and loved to ride them himself. He has'partic-ipate- d in sports throughout his life and was very good in what ever he tried. He was an excellent horse rider but most of all he enjoyed being with his family and doing things with them. He is survived by his wife Stacey of Hurricane, four children, Kiryanna Thomas, Bowdy Ruesch, Justyce Ruesch & of all Ruesch Tristynn Hurricane. He is also survived by his parents. Randy & Bonnie of Ruesch Beaver, & Ned Peggy Grandparents, Ruesch and Ray & Mary Yardley all of Beaver.
