Family.from Virginia, Kansas, Arizona, Florida and California came to join in the celebration! Everyone enjoyed visiting and sharing cabin memories, playing golf, fishing, target practicing, picnicking at the Ponderosa and playing games, crafts, enjoying lots of great meals plus fireworks at the swimming pool park on the Fourth of July. Most of us were together for about a week. There were tents, a motor home and rooms in the cabin plus a motel room. Awards were given for oldest, youngest, traveled the farthest, most fish caught, least fish caught, most kids, camper awards and game Alford champion. The summer of 76 all of Tom Alford's brothers and sisters and their kids and grandkids came from all over the United States and gathered to have a "Cabin Raisin'". It was quite an event. At the end of two and a half weeks the task was completed at least on the outside. The cabin continues to be a work in progress. Paul Anderson supplied us with logs from me sawmill. There were at least 30 people working the whole time. The cabin is now and will continue to be through the years a very special place for all of the Alford Family and their friends. It's got many special memories for each of us. Beaver will be our destination for many years to come! We love it!
