I ask LD.S. church people to look at the names of those who were called and sustained as early church historians who wrote this record. This church Chronology book has a very large amount of information about those many church families whose names are in the book and the things they did. Bad or good, it's all the there. The details are explained in the assessment. The Assessment summa- - , rizes the extent and effects of the fires and provides a broad context for considering the rehabilitashort and tion and recovery needs, opportunities, and priorities in the six state area. The Forest Service plans to use the Assessment as a framework for prioritizing the rehabilitation and restoration work. That may be a good definition of insanity but it is not a good way of describing how hog farms were built In Utah. In this same editorial, the author wrote, "Aren't we willing to learn from the experiences of other states and communities, who have already traveled this road, and those who have not?" The resounding answer is YES. And that's exactly what we have done here. Utah regulators spent nearly one year talking to regulators in hog producing states like North Carolina, Iowa, and Minnesota and asked them what worked, what has not worked, and what they would do differently if they could do it all over again. Then, and only after .learning from the experiences of others, did Utah create the regulations that we have to live by. Comparing Utah hog operations to North Carolina hog operations is like comparing apples to oranges because of the significant differences in how the operations were built and are regulated.
