When I was: 4 years old - My daddy can do anything. 5 years old - My daddy knows a whole lot. 6 years old - My dad is smarter than your dad. 8 years old - My dad doesn't know exactly everything. 10 years old - In the olden days when my dad grew up, things were sure different. 12 years old- - Oh, well, naturally, Dad doesn't know anything about that. He is too old to remember his childhood. 14 years old - Don't pay attention to my dad. He is so old fashioned! 21 years old - Him? My Lord, he's hopelessly out of date. 25 years old - Dad knows a little bit about it, but then lie should because he has been around for so long. 30 years old - Maybe we should ask Dad what he dunks. After all, he's had a lot of experience. 35 years old - I'm not doing a single tiling until I talk to Dad. 40 years old -- 1 wonder how dad would have handled it. He was .to wise and had a world of experience. 50 years old - I'd give if Dad were here now so I could talk Uiis over with him. Too bad I didn't appreciate how I could liave smart he was. learned a lot from him. It seems like the older I smarter the my dad would got, He get. taught me several things in life that have made a big impact on me. The first was that "there is no such word as can't" . Couldn't would be an acceptable answer but not "can't". Another was to "make do with what you have ". And most importantly "you can do most anything if you put your mind to it", I remember him saying, while looking at a broken part, "you know, we can either fix this or build one just like it". He may not have said the above things exactly as I have written them but the meaning was there. I feel these three bits of philosophy can get a person through most situations. marlow Myers Named SWAC's MVP Dixie's Sunny Myers, Daughter of David Myers, was tabbed the SWAC's Most Valuable Player.
