She was elected at the State Convention held on April 6th and 7th in Salt Lake City. 1) Annexation of North Interchange Mr. Jerry Hackwell met with the and presented a City Council petition for annexation of property at the north interchange. A copy of the petition for annexation is at- tached hereto as Exhibit 363B, together with the recommendations of the PLiDuing and Zoning Commission. The City Council discussed with Mr. Hackwell the property and the proposed annexation. After discussion, a motion was made and approved, the annexation petition be tabled for two weeks for investigation and study of the utilities, roadways, etc. Sewing Business Mr. Jeff Blanc and Tom met with the City Council to discuss a possible sewing business to be located within Beaver City. Several of the proposed products were examined by the City Council. Mayor Lee was assigned to work with the group to see what help Beaver City could give with starting the sewing business. After additional review of Beaver City's old Legion Hall and the machinery located therein, a motion was made, Mayor Lee be authorized to start proceedings to obtain possession of the sewing machines. Mayor Lee is authorized to negotiate with the SBA to put Beaver City in the first lien position. After obtaining the sewing machines, Beaver City may rent or lease the sewing machines that are needed by the Tactical Edge Company. Water Extension Mike Riley, Danny Williams and Jerry Hackwell met with the City Council and discussed waterline extension to the south interchange. Several scenarios were discussed for placement in the agreement between Beaver City and the developers. After discussion, it was the consensus of the City Council the Water Committee prepare a draft of an agreement between the water developers and Beavrr City. The developers requested that a letter be written to their funding inBeaver and County stitution stating Department Building Beaver City's position for waterline extension to the south interchange. Mayor Lee was authorized to prepare the letter, a copy is attached hereto as Exhibit 363C. No further business presented before the City Council, the meeting adjourned at 12:00 midnight. Swin-dlehur- st Featuring information Beaver City Council Special Session The Beaver City Council met in Special Session on April 19, 1990 at 5:00 p.m. with the following members present: Mayor Robert H. Conrad Couucilmembers Lee; Grimshaw, James Robinson and Paul Anderson. Councilmembers Robin Bradshaw and Michael Dalton were absent and excused. Also present was Beaver City Engineer Tim Jones and City Hal Recorder City Lessing. Manager Gordon Baker was absent and excused. Several supply companies and contractors were represented for the bid opening. Mayor Lee informed the public present that the purpose of the special City Council meeting was to open bids on the pressurized irrigation system. At 5:00 p.m. Mayor Lee closed the acceptance of any further bids per bid specifications and opened the following bids: Schedule No. 1 -Materials; Scholzen Products $342,061.27. Plumbers Supply Co. $347,398.80. The apparent low bidder is Scholzen Products at $342,061.27. Schedule No. 2 - Pond Construction; Sky View Excavating - $99,275.00; H.E. Davis and Sons - $118,660.00. Fenn Lester Excavating Interstate Rock $104,788.00; Brown Brothers Con$91,180.00; struction $102,050.00. Apparent low bidder Interstate Rock - $91,180.00. Saturday evening in Bountiful, Utah the family members gathered to pay tribute to their mother on her 93rd birthday. Dinner was served and after that a program. There were over 150 family members present. Many of the family members paid tribute to Kathleen for being such a good mother and grandmother. Millions of people, during their lifetime will be incapacitated by a serious depressive order. Ninety-fiv- e percent of all depression or what some call "Blue" moods is the result of not getting what we want. Usually a person, place, or thing nut performing to our expectations. Also when one takes on more responsibilities than required for an extended period of time. Sometimes called "Burn-outGenerally, we resolve and work through these t" moods and go on with our lives in a short period of time. However, five percent of depression, which lasts two weeks or longer, or that which is recurring, is clinical. Depressive disorders are serious and treatable. A major illness is depression. Over ten million Americans suffer from depressive disorders. Startling and unnecessary, depressive disorders cause unestimable pain to millions of people. Millions more hurt families and friends, whose lives are affected, often disrupted disorders. The by depressive economy is affected costing a staggering estimated $16 billion each year. is not Depression personal failure. Everyone has a bad day. Everyone has problems. But when bad days, problems, "Blue" moods, and "Burn-out- " are recurring, we need to do something about it. Depressive disorders involve symptoms that affect thoughts, feelings, bodily functions, and behaviors. The symptons can last for months, years or a lifetime without treatment. A great many people suffering from depression, given proper support (Understanding, Treatment, Rehabilitative can programs), become and are productive members of society. Surprizingly, only one in five people, suffering from a depressive disorder, gets mental health treatment. Recognizing depressive disorders, in their various forms, is the first step to successful treatment. Some experience a one time episode of depressive symptoms and other recurrent episodes. Other experience the severe mood swings of 4. Loss of interest or pleasure in ordinary activities, including sex. 5. Sleeping and eating disturban- ces. 6. concentrating, Difficulty remembering, making decisiqns. Thoughts of death or suicide, suicide attempts. 8. Persistent physical symptoms or pain that do not respond to treatment. ". Treatment is needed for anyone who has four or more of the above listed symptoms for more than two weeks. Effective medication and psychological treatments exist and often are used in combination. Even of the most serious forms depressive disorders respond to treatment and more times than not in an out patient setting. Depressed persons may need assistance in seeking treatment. Depressive disorders, by their very nature, interfere with the person's ability or wish to seek recovery. Persons suffering from serious depression need encouragement from family and friends to seek treatments to ease their over whelming pain.
