These district caucuses are particularly important this year. All county officers will be up for election this fall with the exception of one carryover commission seat. All Democrats are urged to participate in their respective district caucuses. Milford District 1 will meet at the Milford Senior Citizen Center - Milford HZ at Milford High School. The Minersville caucus will be held at the home of H.E. Griffiths - 390 W. 200 S. In Greenville, Democrats are to gather at the home of Ralph Fordham. Caucuses for Beaver Districts are: 1 - the Beaver County Court House and 42 the Beaver Opera House. It is recommended everyone arrive a few minutes early at their meeting places, as all caucuses statewide - are coordinated with a special telecast over KL'ED Channel 7 beginning promptly at 7:00 p.m. Anyone who is uncertain over his or her voting district should phone the Beaver County Clerk at or, if desired, in Milford or Rick phone Roy Young ). Random Roadblocks To Be Held Beaver County Sheriff's Department will hold random roadblocks from May 1 to July 1, checking for "drivers license and registration. This notice is issued to inform eligible voters of the right to nominate candidates by petition. Copies of the petition and instructions on its completion can be obtained from your local FmHA office. M fport 1990 Week of April A Las Vegas man was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and booked into jail. He was also cited for Open Container and Driving on Suspended Driver License. An incident of retail theft at Ellen's Video, Beaver, was cleared when the property was recovered and a citation for Misdemeanor Theft issued to a Beaver woman. A Beaver man was arrested in Milford on DUI charges and booked into Beaver County Jail. A Beaver man is being charged two counts of Criminal with Mischief and one count of Criminal Trespass after an incident in Milford in which two tires were slashed on a Deputy Sheriff's patrol vehicle. Two young men and a juvenile, all from Beaver, were cited with Illegal Possession of Alcohol. Several incidents involving the knocking down of road signs in the Milford area are under investigation. A traffic stop following a report of a possible drunk driver resulted in the arrest and citation of four suspects from Salt Lake City. Two were cited for Supplying Alcohol to Minors and two were cited for Illegal Possession of Alcohol. An incident of Criminal Mischief in which a rock was thrown through a picture window of a Milford residence is being investigated. Nine traffic accidents, all involving property damage, were handled during the week. Response was made to eighteen requests for assistance by citizens. Seven of these calls were to keep the peace and five were to check out suspicious persons incidents. Four animal problems were handled. traffic stops were Forty-fou- r made. Robbie was chosen for his outstanding accomplishments in the vocational field and he has maintained a 3.8 CPA in his vocational classes during the past 4 years. She is planning to attend SUSC next d fall as a major. She has been involved in a score of activities including Jr. American Girls State, Legion Auxiliary, pre-me- Federation for Drug Free Youth member, NHS, Drama club, Foren-sicCivic Arts summer plays, cheerleading, and track. She enjoys all aspects of the outdoors, especially hiking and camping. Each girl's overall demeanor will be judged through an interview, dance number, short skit promoting dairy products, formal dress and spontaneous answers to individual questions. The girls will also participate in a dairy products pie contest. A Dairy Family Dinner to support the pageant will be held preceding the pageant at 7:00 p.m. in the Beaver High cafeteria. Costs are $3.50 a person or $10.00 a family (parents and dependents). Please bring your own dishes. Construction crews have resumed ambulance building the new building located next to the Sheriffs office. The building will house the ambulance services three ambulances. In a recent contest with the elementary school, Lacy Yardley named the building the "Med-ShedThe building will consist of three bays facing the east with doors and one bay to the west which will have a wash bay that drives through to the Northern bay of the will a front. There be classroomkitchen and various storage rooms. The building will house an emergency generator for this building and the Sheriffs office. ". The completion date is very close and the contractor is busdy getting things put together to finish the project. Riley Construction is the general contractor with Dave Reynolds doing the framing, R.E.D. Inc. is the electrical contactor and Imperial Plumbing is the plumbing contractor. the Darrel Davis, President of the volunteer group, who spearheaded and secured the monies to build this building, they obtained with $63,000 from the Utah Community Development Council, 2,000.00 Beaver Valley Hospital, $4,000, Beaver City, $7,000, Beaver County, $1500, Beaver Fire District According 1, $4,000 Dell $247.00 Beaver Ambulance, Hollingshead, $500, Beaver Hyrum $50.00 Senior Citizens, Lee Family, $500 100F Lodge, with a total of $82,797.00 towards the project. The facility now has a building but has to now furnish the building. The Beaver Ambulance Service wants to recognize Abe Gillies, a former resident of Beaver and Mr. Wallace Dean for donating time and talents for the drawings they donated to the building of the new building. Beaver City and Beaver County have donated time and equipment for the cleanup of the grounds also. |
