Burr, Larry Lee Jensen, Curtis Allen Wright, Roderick Kirk Jones, and Scott Anthony Langford. Following are some facts about each one: Glen W. Burr, 17, a junior at Beaver High School, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ron Burr of Beaver. in wrestling, He is interested and Softball, and skiing swimming, in parliamentary procedure in public speaking, is in the school choir, and SCOTT LANGFORD VW it V4 LARRY JENSEN GLEN W. BURR has the Life rank in the Boy Scouts. Glen's contributing sponsor is the American Legion Post 32. Larry Jensen, 16, a junior at Beaver High School, is the son of Darwin Jensen of Beaver. He is interested in football, baseball, softball, tennis, basketball, swimming and golf. He was the Assistant Editor of the school newspaper in 1985 and will be the Editor in 1986. He has the rank of Star in the Boy Scouts. Roderick Jones, 16, is a junior at Beaver High School and is the son of Kirk and Sharon Jones of Beaver. Rod's interests are wrestling, skiing and swimming. He also does church public speaking, is on the staff of The Beaver Press and the High School Yearbook, and has attained Eagle rank in the Boy Scouts. His contributing sponsor is the American Legion Post 32. Scott Langford, 16, is a junior in Beaver High School and is the son of Kristine Langford. He is interested in baseball, basketball, swimming, tennis, football, volleyball and golf. He is involved in the school paper and has Star rank in the Boy Scouts. Curtis Wright, 17, is also a junior at Beaver High School and is the son of Edna Mae Wright. His athletic interests are swimming, mens softball, volleyball and track. He is involved in public speaking in church He is also involved in the and school newspaper and has Life rank in the Boy Scouts. He is in the church choir and also sings alone. His contributing sponsor is the American Legion in Beaver. It is an honor to be chosen to attend The American Legion Boys' State of Utah and these boys will find that the six days they spend in activities of the City, County and State Government most interesting and educational. Congratulations! 4-- Alternate Milford High Alumni Jr. Prom, Apr. 20 An Alumni Junior Prom will be held April 20, Saturday from 8:30 to midnight in the Milford High School Gym. Promenade and Program at 10:00 p.m. Research has been done and Prom Themes beginning from 1925 down through the years 1930, 1940, 1950, 1960, 1970 and 1980 have been found. The years 1928, 1929, and 1930 are still missing. A Memory Book containing these themes will be available at the Prom. Come and hear music from the past by Nisson's Orchestra from Washington, Utah. The proposal applies to jobs for people aged 16 to 19, from May 1 to Sept. 30 of three trial years, 1985, 1986, and 1987. The bill prohibits employers from substituting youths for current employees. Employers who discharge, transfer or demote workers for the purpose of employing eligible youths under this program are subject to a $10,000 fine, six months in prison and payment of back wages to any employee harmed. It also prohibits an employer from reducing the wage rate below $3.35 per hour for youths employed at any time during the 90 day period prior to May 1 of each year. Hatch noted that unemployment figures in Utah were 18.5 percent among teenagers in 1983 and 16.6 percent in 1984. Finalists that were chosen are: Sam Moore, Suellen Shurtliff, Keri Randall, Clayton Holt, Gayland Jones, Karen Jones, Camden Robinson and Jared Holt of Enterprise High School and Darrick Weldert of Beaver High School. The students are seventh and eighth graders from those schools and were accompanied to the contest judging by their science teachers Mr. Stan Holt, Enterprise High, and Mr. Vernon Condie, Beaver High. These finalists will participate with other Southwest Utah students in further competition on Apr. 10 in Richfield. At that time students will be recognized for their achievements and trophies and cash awards will be presented. and All entrants received certificates of participation for their entries in Monday's contest. "We encourage all area students to join us in the contest next year," said Margaret Oler, contest coordinator. The contest is an annual event sponsored by UP&L for seventh, eighth, and ninth grade students to encourage young people to explore creative ways to produce energy while preserving our precious natural resources.
