Next Saturday, February 2nd, there will be no games because of the Beaver High School Wrestling Tournament. Adult Education Adult Education classes will be starting in Parowan at the Parowan High School according to Eleen Evans. There will be a Users Computer Class taught by Richard Dotson and a Poetry class taught by Dr. David Lee. Both of these can be for college credit if enough students participate. Piute Junior Wrestling The Beaver High School traveled to Salt Lake City to compete in the Rocky Mountain Drill Team Competition. Here they competed with 25 other Drill Teams ranging from The BEAVER 586-542- 0 tournament by Sharon Jones Saturday, January 25th, nineteen junior Beaver wrestlers and their coach, Bruce Marchant, along with several parents, braved icy roads and early morning hours to attend the Piute Tournament. In their first matches of the year, and with only one practice under their belts, these young matmen are to be congratulated for a job well done. Kindergarten wrestlers included Josh Shotwell, who placed third, Josh Osborn, with a fourth, and Kiley Eyre. First graders were Landon Shotwell and Jaden Edwards who both placed first and earned gold medals, Renton Williams who brought home a silver second place and Steve Reusch. Second graders were Tavish Edwards with a second and Josh Eyre. The two third graders to participate were Ryan Osborn who placed second, and Kyle Marchant who earned a fourth place. There were also two fourth graders, Royce Williams who placed second and Trent Bradshaw who placed fourth, and two fifth graders,. Eric Jones with a fourth and Cade Edwards. Sixth grade matmen were Ryan Williams, who usually does well, but came down with the flu and Wesley Morris, who did a super job and won his gold medal. Junior High wrestlers were eighth graders Kenny Reusch who placed second and Kiley Maycock who placed first. We congratulate these young wrestlers and encourage them to keep up the good work. Yellow Team scores were Kelly Eyre 7, Robert Skinner 4, and 0 for Brad Eyre, Jared Goff, Chris Lee, Darren Marshall and Curtis Strong. The Blue Team beat the Purple Blue Team scores were Team 28-2Russell Carter 16, Brett Hutchings 6, Tyler Fails 4, and Yancy Edwards 2. (Other players were Ben Robinson, Wade Gary and Gary Mclnelly.)
