Shane Erickson Is Eagle Scout Shane Erickson was all smiles Sunday night as he watched the First Ward Relief Society room fill to capacity in his honor. Over 60 friends, relatives, and ward members attended the special Scout Court of Honor, in which Shane received the prestigious, hard-earne- Eagle Scout Award. Douglas Erickson, Shane's father, was given the great privilege this Eagle of presenting award to his own son. He then praised Shane for the good boy he was, and expressed his love for him. Shane's project was one which may have already saved lives or serious accidents. He organized and carried out the painting of no parking lines on the curbs of the main street intersections. This gives cars and pedestrians alike the ability to view Gil Nets Continued from Page One number of trout do remain in the lake from previous years. Most of these fish appear to come from the 1981 fingerl-in- g plant. These fish are just now attaining a weight of about one pound each. There also appear to be a fair number of trout left over from last years catchable plant. About 27 percent of the trout caught were from this group of 15,000 catch-abl- e size rainbows planted just prior to last years opening day. These trout now average just over 12 inches and weigh about 34 pound. A few larger trout were also netted, the largest measuring over 18 inches and weighing about three pounds. Chubs apper to be a major problem in the reservoir. At the time of netting the water temperature was 46F. At that temperature the chubs should be fairly inactive, yet 1393 chubs were caught in the nets. The large population of chubs has definitely been a factor in the reduced trout growth. They may also be responsible for the apparent failure of last years fingerling plant, and may eliminate the stocking of anymore fingerling trout into the lake until it is treated. Vacuum Repair & Parts up and down the street without obstruction before entering a busy highway. Shane has received his Duty to God award and is a member of the Order of the Arrow. We are all very proud of him. The special guest speaker for this occasion, Keith Hutchinson, talked about scouting and what a great influence for good it was in his life as he grew up and what it could do for young boys in today's society. He impressed upon everyone's mind the importance of each boy and the important responsibility we as scout leaders and parents have. Along with Shane's Eagle award, there were also many other awards, advancements and presentations given out at the Court of Honor. John Smith donated a troop flag to the Scout troop. Raymond Erickson did the special lettering on the flag. Paul Thomas and Roger Brad-shatwo leaders received awards for over three years of service to Scouting. Ron Klug, Raymond Erickson and Ryan Yardley received their 'On my Honor' Carter awards. Jimmy received his Eagle bronze and Gold Palms and Steven Bowler received his Silver Palms. The Star badges were presented to Russell, Allen, and Raymond Erickson. Bernard Walker advanced to First Class; ' Tim Paget to Second Class, and Walter Kerksiek to Tenderfoot.
