There were IA and 2A schools that participated. There were state records that were broken. Jess Cox, took 2nd in the 440 and broke the State Record, he ran it in 51.91. He took 1st in the Medley Relay and also broke a State Record 3:45.6 and took 4th in the Mile Relay. Burt Myers took 6th in the pole vault. Thane Marshall took 4th in the long jump and 4th in the mile relay. David Roberts took 6th in the two mile. Scott Yardley was on the Medley Relay team. Todd Plumb was on the Medley Relay and 4th in Jhe mile relay. Chris Davis took 1st in the Medley Relay and took 4th in the Mile Relay. The girls took 8th in the track meet. Sherrie Hutch-ing- s broke the State Record in the 110 low hurdles, 15.73 and placed 4th in the Medley Relay. Teresa Edwards took ?nd in the mile and qualified for State and took 6th in the $80. Camile Lee took 2nd in jhe 2 mile and broke the school record 13.31.25 and fook 4th in the Medley Relay. Michelle Thompson took 4th in the Medley Relay. Nancy Bradshaw took 4th in the Medley Relay. Last Wednesday Beaver had a duel track meet with Milford beating them with a 104 points. The following participated Mark Fuller, 1st in the javelin and 2nd in the discus. Eric Dotson took 3rd in the discus. David Neilson took 3rd in the 100 yard hurdles. Ryan Marshall took 3rd in the 330 hurdles. Alan Smith took 3rd in the 880 and 1st in the mile relay. ' J.V. Track Team The J.V. also participated. Darren Ferguson took 1st in the discus, 1st in the javelin, 1st in the 440 relay, 1st in the Medley Relay, 1st in the mile relay and 2nd in the shot put. Brett Christensen took 1st in the long jump, 2nd in the 100 yard, 1st in the 440 relay, 1st in the 220, 2nd in the high jump and 1st in the low hurdles. Vocational Day Last Wednesday, some of the Beaver High School students went to S.U.S.C. for Vocational day where they participated in the areas of Business, Home Economics and F.F.A. JOANKESLER Joan Kesler, our Seminary student for this week is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe (Carol) Kesler and was born in the Iron County Hospital on December 16, 1962. She was the second child in a family of three girls and one boy. While growing up, she enjoyed all of the advantages of living in a friendly small home town with lots of friends and family close by. During her high school years, participation in many school activities has kept her very busy. She has been a cheerleader for two years and a member of the for 1 year. Participating in all of the musicals has been very enjoyable. She loved the part of "Ado Annie" in "Oklahoma" and this year played the lead part of "Mary" in "Little Mary Sunshine." She received the Fillmore award for "Best Actress for 1979-8"Best Actress for 1979-80- " serving as Laurel President in the Beaver Third Ward. She is looking forward to graduating from Seminary in May. One of the things that Joan likes to do best is to travel. She has enjoyed going with other high school students in Utah to New York, Washington, D.C. and other eastern cities, and most recently to Hawaii last summer. Her hobbies include singing, acting, dancing, reading and watching television. After graduation in May, she plans on attending the Beaver High meet. Stndentbody Elections Elections were held last Wednesday for the Student-bod- y officers for 1981-8President Scott Yardley, Vice President Karla Moss, Secretary-Treasure- r Darlene Bettridge, Publicity Manager Carolyn Hutchings, Social Manager Paul Robinson and Historian Lesa Bezanson. Class officers were chosen Monday for the 12th grade President Chris Davis, Vice President Scott Stucki and Secretary-Treasure- r Kenny Stoker. 11th grade President Nancy Bradshaw, Vice President Chris Branvall and Shirce Secretary-TreasurBarney. 10th grade President Keith Stucki, Vice President Cheryl Gale and Secretary-TreasurChad Limb. 8th grade President Rae Lynn Wilson, Vice President Mike Stucki and Secretary-TreasurChristie Mulligan. She has a very good record in sports, placing first in relay medleys. he was one of the first members to be in chosen to join the her freshman year and has been with the group for four years holding the office of Drill Mistress for the past two years. She attended Girl State last June at SUSC. She was homecoming and sweet heart attendant and also voted best dressed girl of Beaver High this past year. She's been a member of and is very active in the LDS church. Her hobbies are sewing and cooking. She plans to further her education by attending college next fall. Mark moved to Beaver at the beginning of his freshman year. He has always been active in scouting and is now a Priest in the Beaver 3rd Ward. He has held many church offices. Mark was on the Freshman Frolic Committee, President of the Sophomore Class and Social Manager. He participated with Beaver football squad as a quarterback in two State Championship games where the Beavers won the title. Mark is participating in track and enjoys all sports. In his senior year, he has been Homecoming King, voted most attractive and is active as a KBBO radio announcer.
