Last Monday when we returned to school the class noticed that Santa Claus had started out early this year. At the back of the room and at the east board, there were two new bulletin boards. We have started to hang news articles on one of them. We also have a new table at the back of the built-i- n room where we can do studies, art and other things. Mrs. Esther Harris gave a reading titled "America." We were then favored by a piano solo from Mrs. Roscoe Beckstead, after which Reverend Goff gave a talk on Education. Before the beet vacation we made up an imaginary soldier, whose name is Johnny McKinley. We are going to buy bonds and stamps to furnish Johnny with everything a soldier needs. We have donated $3.30 already and we have received tags showing that we are members. Miss Ferry's 5th Grade Last Friday our room started to collect our Red Cross money. We have a lot of it in already and we are trying to have 100 per cent. Some of us have our badges. Some have paid up to $1.00 and some have given 50 cents. We have been making pictures for Thanksgiving. November 25th is Thanksgiving and we hope we ly work and business meeting held Thursday of last week at the Relief Society room. On Sunday a family dinner was enjoyed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Rhodes in Brigham. Major Barnard is Flight Superintendent of Northwest Airlines with headquarters at Edmonton, and relates some harrowing expenences in the far northern country between Edmonton and Fairbanks, Alaska.
