Mrs. Oswald Hess accompanied him here and will visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Rudd for a few days before returning to her home in Rock6. land. Virgil Nish is reported still on the Bick list, .suffering from throat trouble It is hoped that he will soon be on the improve. Miss Janett Steed, daughter, of Mr. and Mrs. James Steed, was tendered a very unexpected surprise by her young friends at the home of her grandy parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Rose evening. Miss Steed intends to 'move with her parents to McCammon, Idaho, in the near future. The Fielding base ball players gave our boys a very pleasant call, Sunday afternoon and engaged them in a sociable game of base ball on the bal park here. The Fielding nine proved too much for our boys and won the game by a large margin. Mr .and Mrs. John Mason were afternoon guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nish, while here they motored over to Mound Springs to visit with Mr. Mason's brother, Wm. S. Mason. Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Mason and family, who have been spending the winter in Ogden, arrived here Tuesday and will make their home in their ranch this summer. Mrs. Phebe Timbs was overjoyed Thursday, it being her birthday, by having a host of her relatives and friends call on her at her home to eat birthday dinner with her. All had a very pleasant time. Winfred Jensen and Miss Phyllis Archibald of Pocatello, Idaho, are visiting here with Mrs. Rhoda Archibald. Mrs. Clark Rudd and Mrs. Robert Nish were visiting in Malad City with Mrs. Nish's daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Hess. Mr .and Mrs. Walter Clark of City, were visiting here with SMr. Clark's mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Clark, Sunday of this week. Mr. and Mrs. Don R. Lamb are rejoicing over- - the safe arrival from California, of a nice bunch of baby chicks that arrived safe and sound and were looking fine after their long and tiresome journey here and who witnessed their first snow, as there was a real snow storm and blizzard on when they got off the train, but Mr. Lamb managed to get them thru into warm Quarters before they became chilled and at this writing all are doing nicely. Mr. and Mrs. Meril Jensen are the proud parents of a baby girl, born May 13th, at the Valley Hospital in Tremonton. Mrs. Jensen was formerly Miss Verlyn Jensen. Wednesday evening, May 10th a few relatives and friends met at the home of Mrs. Lovene Jensen in honor of her birthday. The evening was spent in playing miscellaneous games. At ten thirty a delicious tray luncheon was served to ten guests. Mrs. Vernon Hansen entertained a number of relatives and friends at her home Friday in honor of her seventh wedding anniversary. At noon a delicious hot chicken dinner was serv ed to ten guests. Last Tuesday, May 9th, the Future house keepers held their club at the school house, where they elected the officers for the year, after which their leader, Mrs. Violet Jensen, gave a very interesting talk. Thursday evening the eighth grade graduates with their teacher, Glenn Taylor, held 'their graduation exercises in the ward chapel, with Mr. Taylor and Paul Holmgren in charge. Com munity singing, The Star Spangle Banner; prayer, Bishop Jensen; address by Nola Barker; retold story by Velma Dallin; boys chorus "Belles of the Sea, by the eighth grade; reading by Melba Jensen; paper on the future of the students by Verla Hansen; duet, "Old Pals Are the Best Pals," Vear Jensen and Boyd address to the graduates by John H. Lillywhite of Brigham City; mixed chorus "Beautiful Ohio; closing prayer, Arnold Nelsen. Sunday at Sunday school a very interesting program was given in honor of the mothers, after which all mothers present were presented with a beautiful carnation. Tuesday afternoon the Relief Society held a social in honor of mothers day. The meeting was in charge of Mrs. Nellie Andersen. An interesting program was rendered, after which refreshments were served to the forty ladies present. 6tunts from each organization of the ward. Refreshments were served to all present. During the evening President Irma Summers in behalf of the mutual, presented the ward bishopric with a fine table for the use of ward secretaries.. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Jewett and grandpa Payne were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Mantelo of Tremonton, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Nelse Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Anderson and Mrs. Howard Anderson were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Forsberg of Riverside, Sunday. Thursday evening the school gave a splendid program consisting of a play by the 1st and 2nd grade, from Miss Garfield's room, a pageant of the months, by the 3rd, 4th and 5th grades from Miss Anderson's room, and a one act comedy, "The Last Day of School," by the 6th, 7th and 8th grades from Mr. Hansen's room. Much credit is due our teachers for the splendid manner in which the children rendered their parts. The hall was filled with parents and friends, who enjoyed the program very much. We are hoping the same teachers will return to us next fall. Mrs. Elie Anderson and children spent mother's day with her mother, Mrs. Ellen Hunsaker of Honeyville. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Summers and family, Mr .and Mrs. Irvin Summers and family, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Summers and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Homer spent mother's day with their mother, Mrs. Hannah Summers. Mrs. Lena Wells and sons, Arthur and Clyde and Mrs. Mary Wells from Willard, were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Geo .Stark. Mrs. Melvin Homer is very ill at the home of her mother, Mrs. Hannah Summers. Harry Drew is confined to his home with a badly wrenched hip. Mr. and Mrs. Christ Sconley visited their daughter, Mrs. Nellie Nessen and family of Hawell, Sunday. A group of young people motored to the Crystal Springs and enjoyed a swim and a late supper Wednesday Mrs. Earl Woodruff is reported to evining.
