Mr. and Mrs. John Burton and son LaGrand motored to Salt Lake City, Saturday returning Sunday. Harold Persson made a business trio to Brie-haCity. Tuesday. The members of the high school faculty club and their partners motor ed to Brigham City Monday evening and attended the show "Honey". After the show they returned to the high were school where refreshments served. Mrs. P. C. Petterson motored to Brigham City, Tuesday afternoon. The stake M. I. A. Day was held Tuesday evening beginning at eight o'clock with a program in the stake tabernacle. Every ward in the stake was asked to present a part on the program. Following the program all adjourned to the Palace Hall where the remainder of the evening was spent in dancing. Light refreshments were served by the M. L A. stake officers. Harold Persson and Millan Peck made a business trip to Salt Lake City Wednesday. There will be a meeting in the stake tabernacle, May 26 at 8 o'clock P. M. for all M Men and Gleaner Grils of the stake and all ward Y. M. and Y. L. M. I. A. presidencies and M. Men supervisors and Gleaner leaders. The meeting is for the purpose of discussing the M Men and Gleaner Girls session of the June convention, Sunday evening, June 8th. There will be a sDecial speaker from Salt Lake City. The M. I. Mothers of the ward were guests of honor at Sunday school, May 18th, where they listened to a splendid program given by members of the school in their honor. Each mother present was presented with a booklet of poems on "Mother." Hundreds of people attended the Seminary Graduation exercises held in the stake tabernacle Sundav evening, when seventy three graduates received diplomas. President Roy A. Welker, of Pans Idaho, delivered the address to the graduates. Afton Scoffield gave the class address and musicial num bers and readings by members of the graduating class made a very enter taining program. Bishop W. W. Richards, member of the seminary faculty conducted the exercises. Dr. and Mrs. J. W. Chambers had as their dinner guests Sundav. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Moore and family and Aliciired Jtsowman, all of Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Gunderson motored to Logan, Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Roy A. Walker, of Paris, Idaho, were euests at the home of Bishop and Mrs. W ,W. Richards, Sunday night. J. L. Cecil Richardsen left for Phoenix, Arizona, last Tuesday after a six weeks visit with his mother, Mrs. Jennie Jensen. While he was home his mother and brother Roy and himself took a trip out to Booth Valley to visit their former home and neighbors out there. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Miller and children went on a business trip to last Friday. Evanston, Wyoming, They reported seeing some beautiful country and surely enjoyed the trip. Mrs. L. S. Mann entertained her bridge club last Saturday at the home of Mrs. W. E. Woods. All had a very lovely time. Mrs. Andrew Romer and Mrs. Sam Mortensen, entertained last Saturday in honor of the bride, Mrs. Melvin Petersen at the home of Mrs. Sam Mortensen. A pleasant social afternoon was spent and a very good musical program rendered. The bride received many lovely gifts. A large number of the Elwood people attended the funeral of Charles Munns at Garland, Wednesday, May 14th. Mr. and Mrs. Munns lived at Elwood before moving to Garland and have many friends and relatives here who surely sympathize with Mrs. " Munns. Nish has a force of men busy assisting the county gravel business, Monday. trucks in graveling the county road east of town where Bishop has been forced to park his car and walk into town to attend meetings on various occasions when the roads were muddy. This piece of county road has been in need of gravel for some time and will be a credit to the community and a benefit to all who travel that way The trucks also put a good coat of (jravel from the state highway to the ward chapel in town, a piece of road that is very soft and boggy in the spring of the year.
