Those who enjoyed the pleasant evening besides the honored guests, were the hostess and their husbands, and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Jensen, Mr. and Mrs. Frilds Andersen, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Nel-seMr. and Mrs. Burton Andersen, Mrs. John P. Holmgren, Inez Jensen, Erma Selin, Connie Jensen, Elva Baird, Elva Andersen, Veoma Holmgren, Aleen Hansen, Carrie Zinck, Bob Jensen, Lorin Christensen, Lincoln Jensen, Chester Stander, Wendell Jensen, and Cilfford Jensen and to Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Budge of Malad. During the evening games were played and music enjoyed after which delicious refreshments were served. Also Orval Lund of Brigham City; Mrs. Mary Ipson, Mrs. Andrea Hansen and Mrs. Verda Andersen, all of this city. The afternoon was spent in a very sociable way. Miss Edna Thorsen, who has been teaching school at Driggs, Idaho, arrived home Sunday evening for the summer. Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Andrea Morrison entertained at the home of her mother, Mrs. John P. Holmgren. A birthday party in honor of her daughter Katherine Morrison's 8th birthday. A number of little folks were present. Games were Dlaved and refreshments were served. Miss Alta (Jack) Hansen sDent Saturday evening visiting with Miss Bernice Iversen at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Innes at Garland. Dean Grover and Carroll Adams and Misses Helen Atkinson and Marie Larson, sang, "An Angel From On High." All acquitted themselves in a very creditable manner. The scouts spent the time for regular class work on the Bear River, Thursday evening, under supervision of Scoutmaster Paul Larson. Mrs. Julia M. Steed of Clearfield and Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Steed and daughters, DeBeth, Ruth and Maurine, of Salt Lake City, were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. David Larson, Sunday. Owen Cheney took a bus load of high school students, from the classes of Mr. Benson and Mr. Arbon, to Salt Lake City, Friday. Miss Leila Adams accompanied them from here. A number of ladies from here attended the Relief Society conference at Riverside, Tuesday afternoon, and report the meeting as being interesting and beneficial. Pres. C. E. .Smith and most of the Relief Society Stake Board Members were present also a good attendance from the three wards, Plymouth, Riverside and East Garland. Mrs. Starlin Stanfiil and Mrs. Fred L. Petersen, of Penrose, visited with Mr. and Mrs. James Miller, Friday. Mrs. Enoch Grover, son Lowell and daughter Nancy, of Rigby, Idaho, were Monday and Tuesday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lafayette Grover. They called here on their way to Salt Lake City to see A. I. Grover at the L. D. S. Hospital. Messrs. Austin, Skelly, Holmgren, o Sugar and Gaddie of the a demonbeen have conducting Co., stration with a Beet Blocker Machine at the Alvah Rhodes farm during the week. Many farmers have called to watch it work and observe the results. Utah-Idah- week, ' A very pleasant Relief Society meeting was held Tuesday at the home of Pres. Ida Peterson. Counsel, or Laura Ray had charge of the work. The afternoon was spent in sewing, at the close of which delicious refreshments were served by Amelia Anderson, Ida Peterson and Edna Nelson. Friday evening, the officers and teachers of the Y. L. M. I. A. entertained the Junior Girls ,and the Bee Hive Girls. The affair began at 7 P. M. with a treasure hunt for the girls and also the officers and teachers. After the finding of the treasure, the girls were taken to the ward hall. Games were played, followed by a delicious tray lunch served to twenty girls and three visitors. M. at the home of Mrs. Lovene Jensen. All members are urged to come. An interesting program has been prepared. The Daughters of the Pioneers of this ward whose meeting was to be held, May 29th has been postponed until, June 5th. Shelbey Ackley of Briggs, Idaho, is visiting at the home of Mrs. Zina Thorsen and family. Mrs. August Iversen and Miss Jack Hansen were shopping in Tremonton, Friday. Mrs. Earl Marble and baby of Tre monton spent Friday visiting at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs, Mathias Hansen. Last Sunday. May 18th, which was the Aaronic Priesthood day the following program was very well ren dered at our sacrament meeting, under the direction of the Bishopric who turned the meeting over to Lincoln Jensen, who took charge.
