I asked if it would be possible to go pick some. Nope you can't unless you want to be shot at. So I watched all the asparagus go under. Not to much asparagus showed upon the market that year and what did cost an arm and a leg. Asparagus is seasonal and 1 love it. So just in case asparagus gets down to a decent price and you'd like to try it, or have tried it, I will try and give you some recipes for you to use. Buttered Aspeargus 1 pound asparagus. Break off stalks as far down as they snap easily. Remove scales along stems and wash well. Leave whole. Tie whole stems in bunches with string and stand upright in narrow deep pan or coffee pot. Cook covered in 1 inch boiling salted water 10 to 20 minutes or until tender crisp. Catch string with fork when lifting aspeargus out of pan to keep stalks whole. Season with salt and pepper. Pour melted butter over the top. Garnish with crisp bacon strips and quartered hard boiled eggs. Asparagus with Mushroom Sauce 2 bunches asparagus pounds each) Yt cup mild '1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup undiluted Clean asparagus and snap bottom off. Tie stalks in ser-visize and cook in salted water until tender. Drain. Arrange asparagus in serving dish and pour mushrooms over asparagus.
