Lucille Farr from Phoenix, Arizona. Nella Copelin, Fullerton, Calif., Russell, Jennis, Kevin and Michael Styler from Oasis, Utah. Arlyn and Mary Styler from Bountiful, Utah. Robert, Ellen and Jeannie Anderson from Eph-raiUtah. Walt, Barbara and Paul Messinger from Cedar City, Utah. Mrs. Joanne Christiansen and Paul from Tooele, Utah, Mr. and Mrs. John Christiansen and little son from Denver, Colo. Miss Kim Judd from Boron, Calif., Miss Carolyn Jones, from Homeland, Calif., Kim and Carolyn were Ann's roommates at Utah State and are both recent converts to the LDS Church. Karen Perkins, Orem, Utah, Mark and Elna Woolsey, Lehi, Utah, Seven Messinger, Salt Lake, Lou Jacobs of Logan, Utah, and Mr. and Mrs. Hal Christiansen of Central, Utah. Dennis and Gwen Mertlich and two children of Salt Lake City have been in Beaver visiting at the home of Floran and Lucinda n County 438-286- ' Protestant Parish 9 Mr. and Mrs. Rodney (Arlene) Nelson and family of Chino, Calif., are visiting with Arlene's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jess Edwards. They were there on Sunday for her mother's birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Shad Bradshaw and boys are visiting in Salt Lake with Janet's sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Kim Jones and other family members. Mr. and Mrs. LaVel Bradshaw and six grandchildren, Malina, Shaila, Pamela, Bret, Jason, and Jonathan Bradshaw all went to Orderville to Mr. and Mrs. Cox to see their son, Duke Cox, be baptized on Saturday, June 30 and had a lovely turkey dinner after with all the other Cox family. Beverly Tadahara of Sandy, Utah, is visiting Mr. and Mrs. LaVel Bradshaw. She is Ilynn's niece. Mr. and Mrs. LaVel Bradshaw visited Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Puffer Friday evening. Services for the Lord's Day: 9:15 Delta Community Presby- terian Yardley. The Dorothy Williams D.U.P. Camp held their summer party' Thuesday evening at the Swim- -' ming Pool Park. The husbands; were invited. Seventeen were in attendance to enjoy the supper. The Better Homes Club mem- -' bers and their husbands held an outdoor party at the Ponderosa Park last weekend with Thelma Goodwin as Chairman. A delicious spaghetti dinner was served to the group. Eleven couples enjoyed the evening. Audrey Erickson spent several days in Salt Lake visiting her mother, who is ill. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Gale had their new sort named Sunday in the Beaver 2nd Ward Chapel. He was given the name of Wade by his father. Dining in at our home has been a delightful experience this past week. Our daughter Valerie made beef stroganoff on Saturday for dinner. She and Horst cooked the complete meal for us. It included home made German potato rolls. After dinner we attended the dress rehearsal of "Butch Cassi-d- y Bites the Bullet" and returned home for a late dessert. Kim Solberg had made a strawberry dessert for Joe and me for our birthdays. It is really lucious. Here is her recipe. Strawberry Dessert 1 pkg. strawberry Danish dessert made as directed on package Add one small pkg. frozen strawberries, or fresh berries. Cool. 3 cups graham cracker crumbs Vi cup margarine, melted Mix together and place Vi in the bottom of a 9 x 13 cake pan. for garnishing Save remaining top. 2 pkgs. Dream Whip 1 cup milk Whip together until thick but not too stiff. Set aside. One 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, 'i LizSimkins to Wed Marty Daniels Liz Simkins, daughter of Mr. Howard D. (Mary) Simkins, will wed Marty Daniels, on the thirteenth day of Julv Nineteen hundred and seventy-- ! nine. Marty is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lorin B. Daniels. The couple will be married in the St. George Temple. An Open House in their honor will be held the thirteenth day of July in Cedar City, and a Reception will be held the fourteenth of July in the Circleville Elementary School in Circleville, Utah. the bride's Mary Simkins, is employed at the mother, Beaver Valley Hospital as a Registered Nurse. Sunday School for July 1, 1979 was conducted by Ray Harris. Organist was Ireta Baker and chorister was Georgean Warby. Opening hymn was "Improve the Shining Moments." Opening prayer was given by Milo Erickson. Worship hymn was "I Know That My Redeemer Lives." Talk was given by Kathleen X i f Mpldfb T T V cup Marty served an L.D.S. mission bishopric of the College First Ward. He will graduate from SUSC next year with a degree in Business Administration. The couple will make their home in Cedar City where they will continue their education. On Sunday Horst made potato pancakes from a mix he wanted to try. His only problem was the batter kept sticking to the spatula. The pancakes were great. Try them with fruit yogurt or applesauce sometime. Krisann Brown, daughter of sugar tsp. vanilla Whip together until creamy; fold in whipped cream mixture. Place Vi of the cream mixture on graham cracker crust, add strawberry mixture, then remaining whipped cream, sprinkle with remaining graham cracker mixture. Chill until set. 1 Connie Lavason, granddaughter of Linnea Hood, was confirmed a member of the Church. Officiating at the sacrament table were Kyle Moss and Mike ' Mr. and Mrs. Larry (Mary Lynn) Morris announce the arrival of a baby girl born Tuesday, June 19, 1979 at the Beaver Valley Hospital. She weighed 7 lbs. 14 oz. and was 20 inches long. She will be named Hilary Dawn. She has two brothers, Wade and Clinton. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. King (Donna) Morris of Greenville, and Mr. and Mrs. Francis (Maurine) Hughes of Mesquite, Nevada. Great grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Eugene (Esta) Warren of Beaver. Mr. and Mrs. Jeff (Julie Ann) Williams are pleased to announce the arrival of a baby girl born June 25, 1979 in the Beaver Valley Hoispital. She weighed 5 lbs. 11 Vi oz., and was 19" long. She will be named Summer Lynn. Grandparents are Sam and Vickie Hutchings and Jimmy and Margaret Ann Williams. Great grandparents are Glen Hutchings, Virginia Beaumont, and Mr. and Mrs. Lunn Turner of Milford, and Dick DeRose. Great great grandfather is Randall Banks of Minersville. Of course we all were a little toward ole Butch but the rest of the cast was great and we hope everyone will attend the play at the courthouse. Florence Hiatt recently came home from the LDS Hospital after having major surgery last Tuesday. Wayne Stewart blessed his and Beverly's baby daughter, Laura Beverly, last Sunday at Second Ward Sacrament meeting. The Senior Citizens had a County Party at the Milford City Park on June 30. Nearly a hundred people attended. Renea Foster of Layton, along with Mr. and Mrs. Doug Wright of Union City, California, are here visiting Mr. and Mrs. Hal Norton.. Renea's daughter, Julia, will be here visiting soon. The Milford High Cheerleaders attending a learning clinic at the University of Utah for a few days. Cas-sid- i i 'J Miss Ann Messinger and Mr. Dale Allen Christiansen wedding changed ex- vows Friday, June 22, 1979 in the Manti LDS Temple. A large group of friends and relatives witnessed the cere- mony. A wedding breakfast, hosted by Hal Christiansen for his brother William, who is in Saudia Arabia, was held at the DeKator Manor in Salina. That evening the couple greeted guests at a reception given by the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arlo Messinger, in the Beaver Fourth Ward. A white backdrop trimmed in blue and two large bouquets of flowers made an attractive background for the bridal party. The bride wore a beautiful silk georgette dress trimmed with Venetian lace. The fitted lace bodice and long sleeves were trimmed with seed pearls, hand sewn following the pattern of the lace. A beautiful ruffled flounce tapered into a train at the back. The waist length veil was trimmed with matching Venetian lace and matching headpiece. Her bouquet was a white orchid surrounded with blue mums, white daisies, and trailing ivy, trimmed with white and blue ribbons. Mrs. Elizabeth Grimshaw, sister of the bride, was Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids were Judy Messinger, Janet Kesler, Sandy F. Whitlock, Kim Judd, and Carolyn Jones. They wore ankle length, styled gowns of blue flowered crepe. They carried bouquets of white daisied trimmed with blue lace and ties with blue ribbon. Mrs. Messinger and Mrs. Christiansen wore long blue knit dresses with blue and yellow silk corsages. Michelle and Candace Grimshaw, train bearer, and flower girl wore blue crepe, ankle dresses and carried length, baskets of white daisies trimmed with blue lace. The groom wore a two tone blue tuxedo and Mr. Messinger, the bride's father, Mr. Christiansen, the groom's brother,' and Mr. Lou Jacobs, best man, wore matching blue tuxedoes. Ushers were John and Paul Christiansen, Lou Jacobs, Steven, Jerry and Mark Messinger. Mrs. John Christiansen was in charge of the gift book. Gifts were arranged by Maurine Gale, Evelyn Gillies and Shirley Smith, - Milford 2nd Ward young women attended MIA Camp at the Girl's Home last week. They were Patti and Lee Ann Hiatt, Lorraine and Donna Davis, Lynette Yard-ley- , Trena Merryweather, Amy Heer, Tanya Applegate, and Tara Gale. Besides the dirt and the mosquitoes, camp was really fun. Milford 1st ward girls were: Alishia Coon, Brenda Robbins, Kathy and Brenda Whiting, and Mari Jane Banks. Fred O'Leary celebrated his 80th birthday, June 27th, at his home in Milford. A dinner was enjoyed by family members, also a gathering of relatives and friends followed. Later they had ice cream and cake. Four genera- tions were represented. His daughter Kathlyn, her husband James Holm, Kathlyn's granddaughter Kiesten, Kathlyn's son Bert, his wife Reva and their small son's Jimmy and Jacob of Salt Lake. Sisters of Fred are Sophie Bruno of Moroni, Mildred Spens, Minie Clark, and Lois Duffy, all of Salt Lake, nieces of Fred are Grace Ostler and Marcile Jackson of Nephi. Jewel Bailey of Moroni. "The Temple on the Hill" and "Our Prayer" was sung by John Christiansen, brother of the groom, accompanied by the bride's sister, Elizabeth Grim shaw. "True Love" and "The Happiest Girl in the Whole USA" were sung by Joan and Julie Kesler accompanied by their mother, Carol Kesler. "Sunrise, Sunset" was sung by Vernon Condic accompanied by Clara Carter, "Take Me to the Temple" and "Hawaiian Love Song" were sung by Carol Smith, Janet Smith, Carol Carter, accompanied by Clara Carter. Remarks by the groom and Gordon Baker. Closing prayer by Lyle Morten-sen- , the Messinger's Home Teacher. Refreshments were served by Rochelle Lee, Melanie Martin. Anita Ruesch and Becky and Joan Morris. The tiered wedding cake with a scalloped bottom layer, decorated with white orchids and blue blowers, stood on a blue table. After a honeymoon at Messinger's summer home, in the1 Beaver Mountains, the couple will make their home in Salt Lake for the present time. Dale is a Junior, at Utah State, majoring in Electrical Engineering. He is an Eagle Scout, and served an LDS Mission to Japan. Ann graduated from Seminary and Beaver Hih School. She is a Senior at Utah State University majoring in Medical Dietetics. d e The Wedding was March played by Mrs. Clara Carter. Gordon Baker announced . Camp held their summer party up on the Swimming Pool Park Thursday, June 29th, at 7:30 p.m. Steak, Dutch oven potatoes, with all the trimmings, were enjoyed by daughters and their husbands. Those present were Beatrice and Cecil Wilden, Miriam and Lewis Limb, Paul and Afton Smith, Bert and Sybil Smith, Afton and Alton Roberts, Molly and Gene Tanner, Maurine and Don Sly, Mildred Draper, Alberta Limb, and two guests, Bob and Dorothy Lunhart from California. It was all agreed for another party planned for August. Reporter, Maurine Sly Liz was named Miss Piute County in 1977. A Business Education major at SUSC, she has served in the Student Senate, Student Executive Council, and L.D.S.S. Council. and Mrs. Brad-"sha- Dorothy Williams Many thanks to the Senior Citizens of Milford for hosting the steak barbecue last Thursday. The food and entertainment was excellent and enjoyed by all. Thanks to everyone that helped make it a great evening. Friday, July 27th, Beaver hosts Milford and Minersville at the Ponderosa Campground. We hope all Senior Citizens will come out for this event. Meals for Senior Citizens have been attended quite well at the City Cafe, thanks to Ray and his fine staff. Jessie Smith reports for June that approximately 380 meals have been served, averaging 35 per meal. Meals for the home bound have been 360 meals, 18 per day. Remember if you know of anyone that needs to have their meal brought to them, please call Jessie Smith. Many thanks to Ray andjiis staff for the fine food and great service. We all appreciate it! Meals for Senior Citizens are served Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at 5:00 p.m. at the City Cafe. Call your reservations in to Jessie Smith by 9:30 a.m. at Meals are paid for by donations. MONDAY.
