GILLINS Mr Gillins will teach English and be the' Junior Varsity basketball coach for the coming year at Beaver High School. He was born and raised in Milford, where 'he attended elementary and high school. from high Upon graduation school he attended, and graduated from, Utah State University. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in English and a minor in Mathematics. Mr. Gillins is married to the d former Connie Burke of and they have a son, Corey. "Since I have a major in English and am teaching only English at Beaver High, I have a deep interest in this important subject. The English set up at this school is indeed to my satisfaction. Generally, it has been set up to meet the needs of all students, namely those interested in attending college, those interested in a vocation, and those interested in a general education. This type of program is being initiated for the first time at Beaver High and I am very confident that it will be a success. It is hoped that each student's needs can be met through this type of program." Mr. Gillins said. Larsen was born in Provo, Utah and lived in American Fork until he was 14. He began playing in band while in the fourth grade. He played under the famous T. K. Bird at American Fork High School. At age fourteen his family mov. ed to Salt Lake City where he attended Jackson Junior High and West High Schools. After graduation from high school he attended the University of Utah for one year before serving an LDS Mission in Denmark. On his return from Denmark he joined the Army Reserve and spent six months on active duty. Mr. Larsen returned to school at Weber State College in Utah and received a B. A Degree in June of 1969 He taught Band and general music last year in Delta, Utah Mr Larsen is married to the former Sharon Penman of Salt Lake City and they have two sons and a daughter Og-de- n, , Belknap School Starts Monday, August 31 School commences at Belknap Elementary School on Monday, August 31 at 8:45 a m The schedule will be similar to last year's with the exception of Kindergarten which will be held in the afternoon from 12:45 to 3:00 p m Mrs Cartwright teacher is the Kindergarten also teaching other classes and because of the schedule must have Kindergarten in the afternoon The Kindergarten fee will be $7 Two classes will be added on a half year basis. Music will be taught the first half with Art being taught the second half. School lunch will be served the first day at the same price, $1.00 per week or 25c per day. Belknap will have two new teachers on the staff. Mrs. Ruth Crook will teach First Grade and Mr. Durrell Yardley will have the special education class. Parents are Invited to visit the school anytime. F. and Pauline Woodhouse, was elected into membership of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers at that organization's recent meeting in Chicago, Illinois. Membership in the Society is for those who are engaged in some phase of professional farm and ranch management or rural appraising and who meet the Society's rigid membership requirements. The American Society, which was founded in 1929, now has 1700 members. Its national office is in Denver, Colorado.
