HOT WEATHER FISHING TIPS Do these hot summer days make you feel like sitting in the shade doing nothing? Chances are the fish down in your favorite fishing hole feel the same way. Fishing is generally good on most waters during the spring, but it often slows dow during the hot days of summer when fish seek cooler water in the deeper parts of lakes and reservoirs. The Division of Fish and Game offers a few angling tips to help make your summer fishing trips more productive. Fish the deeper parts of lakes St reservoirs during the middle of the day. Fishing near inlets where cooler, aerated water from streams enters is often productive when fish are inactive in the rest of the lake. Trolling deep or fishing on the bottom with bait will help you get your hook where the fish are. This usually require a boat except on water with deep water near the shoreline. Fishing early and late will often find fish feeding in shallower water near shore. Flics are especially effective during these times of the day.
