Show Co "Congress is considering a new Golden Eagle program," he said "and if it passes the legislation now before it, the 1970 Forest Service user permits now being sold will be exchangeable for the Golden Eagle permit at no additional charge to the purchaser." Mr. Harare stated that all National Forest recreation sites have been used on a non-fe- e basis since March 31, 1970. He said all National Forest recreation sites under this new user fee program will be identified toy signing at the entrance to each area. Lists indicating charge areas in the Region are available upon request from any Forest Service headquarters. Recreation User Fees The Forest Service announced a recreation user fee system for 1970 to be applied at all designated National Forest recreation sites. Forest Service annual permits costing $7 and daily permits costing $1 are now on sale and will be honored in all National Forest recreation sites across the United States. Under this 1970 program,. Forest Service recreation permits will be independent and not ' interchangeable with National Park Service permits or any other agency's charge permits. Recreation permits issued by other agencies will not be accepted at Forest ' ' Service sites. ? It was reported that the funds collected during the campaign exceeded the quota set by the state. Mr. Curtis explained the responsibilities of each committee member and gave helpful suggestions for future educational and service activities in the community.
