Edward applied for teaching assistantships at University of Missouri, University of Iowa, and the Unversity of Cincinnati and rcceved offers from all three. The head of the Department of Germanic languages at University of Cincinnati wrote, "We should like to congratulate you upon this award, which is all the more impressive because of the keeness of (this year's competition from scholars both in the U. S. and abroad." Edward will teach two German classes daily and carry an academic load of nine hours each semester, making possible the completion of 'his Master of Arts program in two years. Edward is married to the for. mer Susan Nielson and they have been residing in Cedar City where Edward attended CSU. He will graduate this August after three years and one quarter. He will receive his degree in German, with a minor in History.
