In addition to establishing the annual allowable cut, the Timber Management Plan considers the requirements for the multiple use management on the National Forest. "It particularly recognizes the needs to maintain a good watershed while providing for recreation, grazing an many other varied uses of the Forest" said Forest Supervisor Fallis. Access roads are essential if timber harvest is to meet the allowable cut. In most cases existing Forest road systems are inadequate both for timber harvesting purposes & for the expanding public uses on th National Forests.
