Secretary To Speak At Soil Conservation Program Supervisors from Utah Soil Conservation Districts will attend the twentieth annual convention of the National Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts in New Orleans, La., February 1966, according to Leo P. Harvey, President of Utah Association of Soil Conservation Districts. Secretary of Agriculture Freeman will be one of the featured speakers. Others include Mrs. William Hase-broopresident of the National Federation of Women's Clubs; James A. Skidmore, Jr., president of the United States Jaycees; George C. Del?, president of the Farm and Industrial Equipment Institute, and others. "Supervisors representing nearly all the 3,000 soil and water conservation districts in the country are expected to attend," said Mr. Harvey. "We will certainly want to represent Utah Districts in the interest of conservation of na tural resources in our state." of The Ladies Auxiliary NACD will meet concurrently with' the convention and a special program has been arranged for them. Her birthday was January 10. Her nieces took her to see several old friends who now reside in California before she returned to Salt Lake. Brent Stapley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Stapley, received a serious eye injury last week as he was playing at his home with several children. One of the children was flipping a belt and the buckle accidently hit Brent in the eys. His eye is responding to treatment and the doctor feels it will soon be back to normal. n.
