Show There's exitement in the air these days everywhere you go. And all because it's the week a week filbefore Christmas led not only with preparation for the big holiday ahead, but also with the most festive parties and musical feasts. One such event was the Lions Club Christmas party with dining and dancing at the Armory last Saturday night. The Beaver Study Club met at the Ponderosa Cafe Monday evening for their holiday party. DR. E. S.:McQUARRIE The Primary Officers and Teachers held their Christmas party Friday night with their husbands as honored guests. Games were played followed by a supper. Mrs. Victor Myers has spent several days visiting in Las Vegas with her daughter, Mrs. Douglas Farnow. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Dotson and family have moved here from Las Vegas, Nev. Mr. Harold Marshall has returned home after visiting for some time in Salt Lake with the Jack Audry family. Mr. Laban Burt spent Sunday afternoon at Parowan visiting relatives. Fay Gillins celebrated her eighth birthday December 11, with a party. Games were played ; after which refreshments were served to her guests. Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Jameson have returned home after visiting in Fullerton, California with Mr. and Mrs. Grant Wood. The Relief Society held their Christmas party Tuesday afternoon. The literature lesson was given by Marybelle Eyre. A vocal solo was given by Mrs. Jill Puffer. A Christmas story was told by Mrs. Phylis Truman and a vocal solo by Mrs. Connie Marshall. On Saturday morning they attended a session at the St George Tern pie and then visited with friends and relatives in Cedar City, Beaver and Milford until Sunday when they returned home. Mrs. Goddard is the daughter of Oren and the late Margaret Pow ell Puffer of Milford. Mr. and Mrs. Michael Rich and young son, Larry, came for an overnight visit with Dorothy and George Rich. The Rich children had a wonderful time holding, kissing and hugging their little nephew. George even let him help run the linotype with him. The only sad part was that they couldn't stay longer. Games were played, gifts were exchanged and refreshments were served to sixteen members. Mr. and Mrs. Clair Gillins of Milford were dinner guests Sunday of Mrs. Cassie McKnight. They also called on other relatives in town. Mr. and Mrs. Marcine Davis have been to Los Angeles, Cal., where they met Mr. and Mrs. Doug Thomas and family and went through the Temple with them on Wednesday. Andrew Terry and Ruebeu Dotson, members of the Beaver Stake High Council, were the speakers at Sacrament meeting on Sunday night. Mrs. Frank Carter returned 1 home Thursday after spending some time in northern Utah helping Mr. and Mrs. Verl and family move into their new home at Hunter, Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Hal Brinkerhoff and family of Springville, Utah, were week-en- d guests at the Gus Lambson home. Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Marshall and Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Gillins spent Wednesday at the St. Geo. Temple. Mr. and Mrs. Don Mangrum and family of Canaraville, Utah were dinner guests Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Mathews. The Elementery School program was held Monday night at the school house. At the end of the program, Santa Claus arrived and presented each child with a bag of candy and nuts. COMIN'S And GOIN'S By Viida Along with all the parties folks have attended, we must mention some of the spiritual treats enjoyed by the people of Braver this past week. On Sunday evening the Second Ward Cantata was a special musical treat for all who attended. As usual, it was an excellent program. The same evening the Third Ward entertained with a beautiful contribution of Christmas anthems and music. On Monday evening the High School Band and Chorus presented a concert under the direction of the music instructor, Mr. Jay Christensen. The concert was a delight to all talent lovers and parents. The young people are to be complimented on such an outstanding performance. Tuesday evening the Second Ward MIA presented a beautiful Christmas play, 'The Chameleon Angel" and a music program. The cast for the play included Elizabeth Messinger, Nanette Warby, Gloria Morris, Roger Smith, Rodney Swindle-hurs- t, Mary Margaret Baldwin, Jimmy Rich, Kathy Lund and was directed by Vilda Smith Musical numbers were given Lady Beatby the Mello-Toneles; Larry Morris; David Cox; Helen Lindsay; a trio, Gloria and Morris, Carolyn Esplin s; Sunday School Christmas Program A Christmas program was held in Sunday School. Song, "It Came Upon A Clear." Invocation, Earl Limb. Two and one half minute talks were given by Debra Gillins and Madalyn Hollingshead. Gem, Leland Banks. The song, "Christmas" was sung by Janet, Darla and Jody Eyre. A talk on the Old Testament and Book of Mormon prophecys concerning the coming of Christ was given by Robert Puffer. "The Most Beautiful Story Ever Told" by Emily Dotson. Ladies trio, Vickie Griffiths, Lorraine Gresman and Marsha Hollingshead, sang ''Star of the East." Bart Hollingshead read a poem. Reva Williams sang "Holy City." Kendall Eyre read a poem. The Junior Sunday School sang "Away in a Manger," "Jingle Bells'' and "Jolly Old St. Nickolas." Douglas Albrecht gave a talk on the Purpose of Christmas. Sherrie Lynn Marshall gave a poem. The closing song was "Silent Night". Eldon have a fun-pack- ed holiday! Mr. and Mrs. Howard Brad- - shaw are rejoicing over the arrival of a baby daughter born Friday, December 18, 1983 at the Valley View Hospital in Cedar City. The new baby has three brothers and two sisters to welcome her home. Mr. and Mrs. George Murdock have a new baby daughter, born in the Valley View Medical Center.
