Richard Carter Wins Safety Award Scholarship Dee R. Ritchie, Beaver Counand Water safety ty First-Ai- d chairman, announced tills week the recipient of a chapter scholarship to a National Red Cross aquatic school. Richard Carter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Carter, will attend the Western Area Aquatic School near Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. This two week school will qualify Richard in water safety and first aid and prepare him to carry on the city program. The scholarship awarded by Joseph A. Manzione, chapter Red Choss chairman, pays for tuition, books, lodging and his meals. The local chapter supplemented the scholarship with transportation costs. All those over the age of five years who are interested in learning to swim or in improving their technique may sign up at the pool before July 4, 1964. Class instruction will begin July 6.
