Since "the meeting in the High School Auditorium on Thursday May 21, at which meeting directors for the Beaver County i Development Company were named those men being, Hal Lund, Sam Hickman, George Rich, Hyrum Lee, Chase Murdock, Elmer Paice and Ross iSmith two meetings of those Directors have been held. Tho first meeting was held on Fri- -' day, May 22 at which time they requested a complete financial statement of the operation of i the Beaver Manufacturing Co. for study and named Chase Murdock as "chairman of the committee, to raise the funds. They also scheduled another meeting for Thursday, May 28 to study the financial reports they had requested. On Thursday, May 28, those Directors, along with the mem-ber- s of the City Council were present at a meeting in the Community Center at which meeting Mr. DeMont Judd who is Mr. Goellner's attorney offered a complete history of Mr. Goellner's operations in Utah along with records to substantiate his report. That meeting was held at 2 p.m. At 8 p.m., the Directors met at the Beaver Bank and studied . the SB A Application made by the Beaver Manufacturing Co. . which contained a complete history of the finances of the company and well as a financial report on Mr. Goellner himself. That, application also contained the financial projection of the company's operation for the next two years based on engineering studies and the past record of th3 company in this city. Also a report was made on the success of the Finance Committee with the money and duplicate pledge agreements being given to Mr. Hickman for safe keeping in a Safety Deposit Box. A motion was made and passed that the names and the ',, amounts of the pledges be published in the Beaver Press. A motion was made that, after consideration of the application submitted to the SBA by the Beaver Manufacturing Com-- . pany, that the Community support the Beaver Manufacturing Co. and assist them to the fullest extent in getting their loan approved and that the directors of the Beaver County Development Company, organized and incorporated for the purposes of encouraging the development of industry in Beaver County, support the Beaver Manufacturing Company and any future development in Beaver County. W David Ross Is Valedictorian At Ely Wendell David Ross, formerly recently selected Valedictorian for the garduating class of 1964 at White Pine High School at Ely, Nevada. He will lead the class of 138 graduates who will receive their diplomas Thursday at commencement exercises set to begin at the high school gymnasium at 8 p.m. of Beaver, was David is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell E. Ross. Young Ross can point to a 9.968 grade point average. He is the presi- dent of the graduating senior of the local class, president chapter of the National Honor Society and the president of the Science and .Math Club. Ross spent his freshman and sophomore years at Beaver High School in Utah. His favorite subjects are mathematics and physics. He is also interested in basketball, skiing, camping, He has hunting and fishing. been sports editor on the school newspaper and a member of the school annual staff. In athletics he played basketball, foot ball, and track during his sophomore and junior years. First Ward Sacrament Meeting Brother Joe Nelson conducted prayers were by Gilbert Briggs and John Ashworth. Speakers were Brother Jim Morgan and Brother Walter Kerksiek of the Third Ward Bishopric. They were very interesting. Wayne Atkin, Son of Mr. and Mrs. LaVar Atkin received a primary graduation certificate and was passed on to become a Deacon. Michael Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Smith was passed on to become a Teacher. Steve Atkin, son of Mr. and Mrs. LaVar Atkin, was passed on to become a Priest. Michael White, son of Mr. and Mrs. Karl White also was passed on to become a Priest. honors that came to the Bauscli and Lomb Science Award; taking second place in the Nevada State Science Fair in his junior year and receiving high honors in the Nevada State Mathematics contest for two years.
