They brought back 3 children of Mr. and Mrs. Doug McMullin for a visit Their parents will be in Beaver for the Race Meet and to take the children back with them. Marva Heppler was happy to have two of her sisters here to spend the day with her. Mrs. Helen Biederman and Mrs. Max Wood of Corona, Calif. They had been on a vacation to Yellowstone Park and were returning home. Mrs. Delia Nowerg entertain- ed the Wednesday Night Bridge Club July 17 at her home. One guest was present. Prizes were won by Ruby McMullin, Vilda Smith and Jackie Nowers. A delicious luncheon was served by the hostess. Oven Peekers CLUB MEETINGS The Modern Mothers Club held their summer party at the Ponderosa Park. The Griffiths report having a wonderful time even though the weather was extra warm and the visit a short one. Hold Party Mr. and Mrs. Don Oakden and family of Salt Lake have been in Beaver. Barbara has been helping to care for Don's mother, Mrs. Gladys Oakden who has been ill for some time after having a heart attack. I fZL Fi Mr. and Mrs. Royal Wood of Henderson, Nevada, are in Beaver to visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Green and family, and to be here for the Mrs. Green family reunion. Wood is the former Ina Green. She and her husband just returned from a trip to San Antonio, Texas, where they visited with Mr. and Mrs. R. P. David. Mr. David was a buddy of Royal's in World War II they were together in a Japanese prison camp. Calif. His many friends are happy to have him home again. , DLlXD I - Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Watson were pleasantly surprised when their oldest daughter, Pat, and her husband Larry Baunhuls and three children, Chet, Jeff and Verlyn of Roy called at their home Monday morning. Next to the oldest daughter, Shei la has come to live with her parents. This is the first opportunity all the family have of being together for some time and it proved to be a very happy affair. The other children at home are Marty, Kathy, Linda and Susan. Their stay was short but Mrs. Watson was delighted that she was prepared to get some pictures of her children and grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Briggs are happy to have visiting with them their daughter Donna, Mrs Jack Newman, and their four sons, Garry, David Randy and Brent, of Salt Lake City. Garry and David have been here for a week or so and the others will until after the 24th of July. Ruth Dawn Gentry, litle daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gentry received a broken arm when ghe and a friend were enjoying a horseback ride. The horse suddenly shied at something which caused the girls to take a tumble. Lori was unhurt and Ruth's arm Is doing nicely. Lt Clarence D. Evans of the Salt Lake County Sheriff Dept. and Mrs. Evans were Sunday visitors at the home of Bishop and Mrs. Joe Nelson. He was also the guest speaker at the joint meeting of the First and Third Ward Sacrament Services. All who attended enjoyed his talk. Sunday evening, July 14, five boyi of the Beaver Third Ward - Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Carler and family are leaving the Beaver Third Ward where they have lived for a long time. are comfortably located in their beautiful new home on 3rd E., and will now be members of the 2nd Ward. They have been wonderful workers in the Third Ward and will surely be missed a great deal. The East Ward, however, ig not entirely new to Clara. She grew up in Beaver's East Ward and it should seem like going home again, the name rings a bell in many of us who hold some very dear memories of the grand old East Ward days. The children of Isadore Less-in- g arrived in Beaver Thursday evening and called for a few minutes at the home of their brother and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Lessing and family. They were on their way to Cedar City to be with their father who is in the Iron County Hospital suffering with pneumonia. They were Floyd Yar-dleSam Kerksiek, Michael Farnsworth, and Richard Carter. It takes four years to earn such an award. A boy must attend at least 75 percent of his meetings, pay a full tithe, and keep the Word of Wisdom. We surely congratulate these boys on their outstanding work. They will surely be the recipients of other awards in the future as they are all fine young men and are headed in the right direction Bishop Kerksiek and his Counselors deserve a great deal of credit for the fine way they are caring for our young people. y, Mrs. Jack Newman and four sons, Garry, David, Brent and Hill Field Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Beeson are Mr. Dr. and Mrs. Allen Farnsworth and family of Mesa, Arizona, are In Beaver visiting with Barbara's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose Dalton. They will go to American Fork July 24 for a reunion with Allen's brothers and sisters. His parents, Mr. rnd Mrs. Taylor Farnsworth are on an LDS Mission In England and Scotland. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Beeson Jr., and children, of Blanding, Utah, were recent visitors at home of their parents, Frank and Susie Beeson. Accompanying them were their son and daughter-in-laand new baby boy making the four generations. Fiank Sr., had the pleasure of christening his first great Brand child. The little prince charming was given the name of "Scott." His mother is the former Charlotte Bcarce of Ogden. w Warren S. White and family of Clearfield, Utah, came to Beaver Monday to surprise his parents, Mr. and Mrs, Harvey White Tbey will spend a few days with them, Warren works at Linda and Barbara Horton of Provo, daughters of Mr. and Mrs Dick Horton, are visiting with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs Alf Horton. Dick and Delores will be in Beaver for the Race Meet and will take children back with them. Franklin Dennis Farnsworth Jr., and Keith Beaumont left Thursday, July 18, for Fort Douglas to take their physical examination, according to Ber-nic- e Mackerell, Clerk of Selective Service of Beaver. Randy of Salt Lake are in ver visiting with Mrs. New-- , man's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Briggs and other relatives. They will remain until after the 24th celebration. and Mrs. Burnett Hayes, also Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Pedigo and two children, Donald and Margaret Ann. All are from Tehach-ap- i, Calif. They will stay until after the Race Meet and Pioneer Day celebration. Mr. and Mrs. Alf Horton were in Salt Lake last wek to attend the funeral of Mrs. Maybelle Heslington McKeon. She is the last of the Heslington family of Greenville; a daughter of Alfred and Hannah Mounsey Heslington. family group within a day or two. They plan a months vacation in Beaver's beautiful mountains and to do some fishing. Their camp will be near the Beaver City Dam. The family members are looking forward to a very pleasant time together. Elmo is a Union Pacific Bus driver. Mrs. Theda Gale since her return from the Milford hospital is staying with her daughter Emma Jane Boyter and family. She is reported to be improving nicely. Bea- of Brigham City and Mrs. Etta Rollins of Salt Lake City. Air Base. Another son, Elmo S. White and wife of Compton, Calif., will join the Its Nice to look at the newly painted fence of Jim and Sadie Low and the beautiful flowers in Jean Cartwright's and May Boy-ter- 's lots. Mr. George Myers was rushed to the Milford Hospital with a severe heart attack. Last report is that he Is in serious condition Mr. and Mrs. Colin Smith and three children of Salt Lake are in Beaver visiting with Mrs. Smith's parents, Mr. and Mri. Walt Joseph. They will also go to Cedar City to visit Colin's parents before returning to their home. ' remain in Beaver for a few days visit with friends. Grant was Forest Ranger in Beaver before being transferred to Elko. Miss Lois White is spending the summer in Beaver with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis White. Lois teaches school in Salt Lake. After attending school in CeMiss Linda Carter is home for the summer with her family, Mr. and Mrs. Sherman dar City, Carter Last week Bill Cox was in Salt Lake where he had an operation on his nose at the Holy Cross Hospital. He is now at home and on the improve. Annette Browner of Norwalk, California, is visiting with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schwab. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jay (Rhoda Schwab) Browner, Mrs. Jerry Smith and family of American Fork are having their vacation in Beaver and staying with their parents. Mr. asd Mrs. Warren Griffith. Ralph will be in Beaver for the race Meet. Visiting with their grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. McQuarrie for the past week are their grandchildren, Val and Kareen Christiansen of Price. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Christiansen will be here for the Race Meet and a visit with friends and relatives and to take the children back home. Mrs. Mary Jane Seaman and four children cf Elko, Nevada are visiting In Beaver. Grant and Mary Jane spent a week in Cedar City and Parowan. Whill in Cedar they attended the Their Shakespearean plays. daughters Kathryn and Annette and son John took part in thf plays. In Parowan, they attende the Mitchell reunion. Grant returned to Elko while the others Enjoying their vacation In Beaver with their parents are: are Mr. and Mrs. Gaylln Heppler and family of Roy, Utah.
