Margery Mackerell Tat-ters- Mr. and Mrs. Ennis Hoops have recently returned from a visit to Horse Shoe Bend, Idaho where they have been visiting with their daughters, Mrs. Rayma Brown and sister Dorothy. They were gone for 9 days. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Anderson and three children of Logan have been visiting at the home of Milford and Alveretta Anderson. They took some pictures of his old home and other places of interest in Beaver. Then they went on to Yellowstone Park for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Ennis Hoops announce the engagement and g marriage of their daughter, Dorothy Marie to Mr. Johnnie Miller of Emmett, Idaho, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Simpson. The marriage will take place in the month of December. Beaver Main Street Businessman for 28 Years pital Served As ot Twitchell, spent the week end with home folks, he accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Gene Helland and Family of Reno, Nevada, who wre enroute to Yuma, Arizona, to get the Indian boy they are raising. They spent two nights at the horns of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Twitchell. They were from Cedar City formerly where Mr. Holland was a music teacher in the Ceiar City High School. They left for their home on Monday, Bill goes to Carson City where he has been working for the Nevada State Museum with Mr. Donald Touhy, curator of anthropology, and Mr. Raymond Brazzanavich, anthropologist of the musium. Bill is a student. They previously completed a six week survey of all historic material the 300 mile right of way of a natural gas pipe line being constructed by the El Paso Natural Gas Co. from Mtn. Home, Idaho, and Reno, Nevada. The distance was covered primarily on foot. This weekend he will join a group of CSU students who will excavate and study artificts at Lake President Beaver Chamber of Commerce Devoted family man President Beaver Fish and Game Club Christensen State Representative; one regular and one special session dren, all in business Beaver City Council Canasta Club was held in the home of Margaret Williams. They are making preparation for the wedding of Donna to be held the 14th of September. Mr. and Mrs. Pat Dotson were in Minersville over the weekend. They live at Maple-ton. Mr. Dotson Is recuperating from a heart attack. Living In Bob Bonner's home is one of Minersville's new teachers, Mr. Floyd Johnson and his family. Mr. Johnson Is teaching the third and fourth grades. -- My thanks to Sam for his nice letter. After the work was done, various estimates placed the increased flow of the creek from one-hasecond foot to one and a half second feet. We are advised that an actual measurement at the weir after time had elapsed for the stream to reach a normal with the developed water, showed the increase to be one and a half second feet. On Monday, May 7, seventeen Manderfield farmers with teams, plows, shovels and any other equipment needed went up Indian Creek for the purpose of developing water, stopping seeps and any other type of work that would put more water into their stream for the irrigation of their crops. The Indian Creek stream had been so small that if even the farms with the primary water right would be unable to be watered even once this year and without one irrigation the result would have been a complete failure. One complete irrigation on most of the land will insure a first crop of alfal ? The Gideon Murdock family lf reunion was held in Cedar City at the home of Allen Murdock on Sunday, August 26th. Those present from Beaver were, Mr. and Mrs. Foch Parkinson and family, Mrs. Karl Parkinson and family, Mrs. Hazel Eliason and baby daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Josiah Osborne, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Hal Smith and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Osborne and family, Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Murdock, Mr. and Mrs. McDonald Armstrong, of Cedar City and Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Hutchings and daughter. Manderfield farmers are enthusiastic over the results of their cooperative effort and feel that another two days work at other points in the canyon may be almost as beneficial. Mrs. Bonnta Gray A shipment of ore carrying high gold value has just been made from the property of the Beaver Gold and Copper Company near Milford, A. J. announces. yThe shipment which was made to the Utah Ore Sampling works was saved during the sinking of a new shaft on the south end of the property. The shaft is bevein ing sunk on a three-foand is now down approximately 100 feet. The shipment went small with $.59 gold values of silver and copper. Sorted ore from this shaft went $26 gold to the ton, Mr. McMullen said. Work is progressing in the silver-lea- d section of the property.
