SUM i lire? L 3 i n, Beef FROZEN CHICKEN PARTS Mrs. Chcsser's 25c The July 28 "Monthly Narrative Report" of Kenneth L. Williams, unit conservationist for the Soil Conservation Service at Beaver, contains several items of general interest which we are happy to reprint since they concern such varied activities in Beaver County. The drought still is the No. 1 problem this year, Mr. Williams's report emphasizes. Field checks of range land seedings made last fall show very poor survival. Stan Oak-desouth of Beaver, reports his plantings of Siberian, Topar, and Crested Wheat grasses are complete failures this year. The Alan llutchings seedings on lower Indian Creek have fared poorly. John and Kenneth Yardley show a little success of Crested and Siberian wheatgrass northwest of Beaver, but the stand is very spotty. Two pleasant exceptions this year are the Evan Patterson seeding of Intermediate wheatgrass in Blue Valley and the Wood & Eyre seeding of 3,000 acres by Bureau of Land Management in Pine Valley. Both of these seedings appear to be successful in spite of the extremely dry summer. The Beaver SCD Board voted to send a boy from Beaver to attend the Youth Conservation Camp at Logan the week of August They also are planning a tour of the Beaver Pilot District for local business and professional men in September to acquaint them with the Pilot District program. The Beaver SCD also purchased a rotary brush beater for $500 this month. The West Beaver SCD voted to send Lynn Smith of Milford to the Youth Conservation Camp at Logan. They are attempting to get their equipment program organized and ready for the fall rush. A total of 6.2U3 lineal feet of concrete ditch lining was completed this month, including 2,530 l.f. for Wayne Wiseman, 1,390 l.f. for James Williams, and 1,483 for William J. Stewart at Milford. and 800 l.f. for John and Kenneth Yardley 3 SHOITING CENTER J VJiJii ' HUSKY SIZIS I Boys' Wrangler Jeans Slim, Regular, Husky Sizes cotton denims.
