The men's team will also take on teams from Salt Lake Community College and the College of Eastern Utah and Western Wyoming, in addition to a civilian team on base and Job Corps, "We're usually pretty competitive depending on our talent The student college teams are the toughest because they're athletes who are there on scholarships usually, so they play at a pretty high level. It's good experience for the team and helps me evaluate how the players operate under pressure and in the team concept," said Tech Sgt Anthony Preston who is in his third year of coaching the team. The men's team had a disappointing showing in last year's AFMC championship tournament, but Preston feels confident about his emerging squad this year. "We have some returning players and we're starting earlier this year so the team can get more experience playing together." said women's team coordinator Senior Airman Angela Jackson, who has been playing at Hill for the past three years and coached the team half of last season. Jackson played the tournament last year in a brace after almost breaking her ankle. AFMC is the last command in the Air Force to have a command-wid- e championship tournament and there's no telling how much longer it will last "It's a real morale booster. Whenever I talk to people in other commands they all wish they still had it," said Preston. "But it's expensive flying 11 teams to a central location, then there's billeting, it adds up. So every year we play we know it could be the last But we're lucky to have support from the command level." One place Preston would like to see more support is fans in the stands. "We'd like more people to come on out and see the games. We have a competitive team and we play tough opponents," Preston said. part of added security for President George W.
