It started on Monday when the cheerleaders set the theme for the school. They distributed the programfor the week. Tuesday was Red and Black Day. Everyone was supposed to wear red and black, the school colors. The drill team wore their uniforms. A bake sale during noon was held on Wednesday. Thursday was string day. Each student had to wear a red or black string to get in the game. The cheerleaders handed out the strings during study period. The pep rally was at 12:45 in the gym, until the basketball game started at 1:00 with Helper Jr. High vs. East Carbon. The drill team marched during half time. Helper Jr. High 8th graders won with a score of 32 to 28. High scorers were Scott Neilson and Scott Reid with 10 points. The 9th graders had a victory with Helper 68, East Carbon 30. High scorer was Louis Biondich. Trampoline by Randy Regruto Seventh grade girls are learning to jump on the trampoline in Mrs. Gwen Callahan's second period class. If your wondering what the "Photo Contest" is it is a contest, where students enter as many "cute" pictures as possible. Cost of entering is two dollars. The deadline is January 9, at which time they will be judges on originality. The first, second and thrid prize pictures will appear in the year book, and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places prizes will be given. Gymdandies By Shawna Regis Terie Wilson The girls of the & dandies Gymnastic club held an inner club meet on Saturday, December 13, 1975. There were four events in the meet. They were uneven parallel bars, floor exer Linda Scartezina and Stu Jackson. bara Jackson, Chem, lab problems By Bernadette Pugliese . Chem. Lab is short for Chemistry Labratory. Mr. Micheal Bradshaw's fourth period science class has been doing experiments in this lab. Mr. Bradshaw sets up demonstrations, and experiment, in front of the class. Students have to observe chem labs No. 1 and No. 2 and prepare a report by giving the purpose of the experiment, the procedure, and then gather data to write a conclusion. There have been several chem, labs students have done and all were interesting. "Only 50 Available" The Madison 1. i 1. -- i i Candles and candlesticks By Belinda Marrelli Most of the students in Mr. Brow's 5th period shop class have been making LUXURY LIVING IN THE COVES!! STANDARD COST LOT & HOME INCLUDING candles and candlesticks. To make candlesticks they get a piece of wood and put in on the lathe to make a design on the piece for the top of the candle stick. Next one takes a flat piece of wood and put it on the lathe to make the bottom section the candle stick. When finished with the designs each person has to sand the candlestick with three types of sandpaper until smooth, then paste the top and bottom of the candlestick together. When finished, they are vanished with any color. To make a candle students have to melt the wax, adding a color dye when it is melted. Then they get the wick and dip it in the wax, pulling it out and pulling both ends of the wick so the candle will be straight. This is done several times until it is the right thickness, it is then dried over night.
