Show Nuptial News Watson-Houghto- n Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Charles Chovit III, Stamford, Conneticut, announced the birth of thier son Christian, born September 26 weighing 8 lbs. 1 oz. Mrs. Chovit is the former Holly Morrison of Kenilworth, City, Utah to Brigham celebrate his mothers' birthday. Mrs. Elva Vail is 68 years old. This past week, Mrs. Virginia Hatch of Richfield, is visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Vail of Spring Glen. Mrs. Hatch is the mother of Utah. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Morrison of Kenilworth. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mrs. Vail. Mrs. Nora Hatsis of Kenilworth flew to Yuciepa, Calif., where she spent four days with her sister Mrs. Mable Knight. t Mrs. Ruby Morris has been visiting with her sister Mrs. Melba Hyatt of Castle Gate. While here, the two Costello from Diamond-villWyo., recently spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. John Costello of Helper. While here, they visited with many relatives and friends and a family dinner was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Costello, also a Birthday celebration for Mrs. Rose Crandall. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Chesnik have returned home after a four week vacation in the eastern states. They traveled by jet to Cleveland, Ohio where they visited with friends and relatives for ten days. ' Then on to Pittsburg, Pa., e, sisters attended funeral services for another sister Mrs. Mable Anderson of Nephi. Accompanying them to Nephi were Mr. and Mrs. Larry Hyatt, also of Castle Gate. Mrs. Morris will remain in Caslte Gate for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bottino have just returned from Laurel, Maryland where they spent 16 days with their son Paul and his wife Ann, and grandand children Angela Kristin. While there, went sightseeing and toured the new LDS Temple in Washington D.C. Mrs. Bottino commented the English language has no word to describe the beauty of the temple. They also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Marasco of Bowie, Maryland. Richard formerly lived in Spring Glen. Chad Bianco celebrated his 7th brithday at his home Thursday afternoon with guests: Eric Fox, Shane Gonzales, David Dimick, Scott Birch, Chris and Gino Sanfelice, and his brothers Brett and Michael. Games were played, prizes given and cupcakes and ice cream were served to all. Tuesday Bridge Club was held at the home of Mrs. Rose Cradall, hostess. Dessert was served after. Winners were Mrs. Helen Van Natta, Ellen Matson, and Margaret Reid. October 12th at 9:30 a.m. an Eastern District meeting of Women's Clubs was held at the Methodist Church in Price. Several members from the Helper Women's Club attended the meeting and luncheon. The meeting was presided over Eastern District by South Bend, Ind., Chicago, 111., and Milwaukee, Wis., where they saw and enjoyed many points of interest. They also spent a few days in Denver on their way home. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Pagano just returned from Santee, Calif., where they visited her son Kenneth R. Morgan and family for two weeks. Mrs. Pagano reports their last visit was a very busy one, so this year they just rested and visited. Mr. Joe Aguirre of Spring Glen spent the weekend recently in Nephi with his dauther Mrs. Ramona her Sidwell, husband Jack, his grandchildren Robin, Steve and Kaylene. Mr. and Mrs. John Kokal recently reutrned from San Pablo, Calif., where they attended the furneral services of her brother Leo Raible. Father John Kokal concelebrated the funeral Mass for his Kokal accompanied John and Ces to Helper where he visited for a few days and returned home to Santa Rosa, Calif. Also home over the past weekend were Pat and Tom Kokal. Tom, who lives in Houston, Tex., was on his way to Las Vegas, Nev., to attend the National Miners Convention held there. Pat Uncle. George Jeanette president, McAlpine. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Vail accompanied Ernie Benash to Helper and of course, Ernie spent the weekend with his parents Mr. and Mrs. John Behash. On the 5th and 6th of October, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Vail traveled to from Steamboat Spring, Colo., spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Lou Trujillo and their daughter Alicia. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe W. Turner 522 North 14th West, both of Salt Lake City, Utah. Bishop Syverson of the LDS Church of- ficiated at the ceremony. The bride carried white gardenias and yellow gladiolas in her bouquet. Her ensemble included "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue" in this fashion. The "old" was a string of pearls belonging to the bride's mother; the "new" was her white satin gown sewn by her mother; the "borrowed" was a white flop hat belonging to Kevin's sister Tristyn, and the "blue" was contained in the silver bands with turquoise stone insets exchanged in the double-rin- g ceremony. The bridesmaids wore emerald satin green floorlength gowns, touched off by rhinestone necklaces. They each carried a bouquet of yellow gladiola's surrounded with greenery. The bride shyly admits the ceremony was planned to take place at 11:00 a.m., but she and her parents arrived about 45 minutes late. After the ceremony, the wedding party went to the C'est Bon in Park City for the wedding breakfast and the reception was held that evening, 7:00 p.m. at the Lamplighter. After the formal trimmings of the wedding day, a huge wedding party was enjoyed by family and friends at the home of the bride. Mr. Turner is the present editor of the Helper Journal and the new couple are residing in Price due to the shortage of available homes in Helper. The bride wore a floor length, full white lace gown and ankle length veil. Scarlet wore something old consiting of a borrowed ring from her great aunt; the new was her gown; the borrowed was an underslip belonging to her mother; and the blue was a blue garter. Bridesmaid gowns and flower girls gowns were purple and white checked gingham, floor length; the maid of honor wore a white and purple nylon floor length gown. Bridesmaids were Nora Watson and Diane Halverson, maid of honor was Ilian Watson. Ushers were Don Watson and Pat Houghton; best man was Jimmy Penelton. Flower girls were Stacey Houghton, Kathy Boynton and Robin Magann. Ring was Michael bearer Chavez. As the bride walked up the aisle her sister Anna Lee Watson sang "To Think You've Chosen Me" ac- Marie companied by Greenland. The reception was held at the Cultural Hall at the Church in Castle Gate. The dance "The band, Fugitives" played from 8: 30 to 11:30 p.m. The first dance as man and wife was danced to the song "Till the End of Time" in which Scarlet's four sisters harmonized to the sone acompanied by Marie Greenland. Wedding cake, punch and favors were served guests. The bride and groom will be living in Granger, Utah and both are attending Utah Technical College. Kent is studying Diesel Mechanics and Scarlet is studying general office work. He used to make this dish for their family, she remembers as a child and after she was first married he gave this recipe to her. Cabbage Rolls 1 tablespoon parsley lb. ground beef Vz lb. loose Vz medium onion, chop pork sausage three-fourt2 cans tomatoes cup uncooked rice Salt and pepper to taste cup water Mix all ingredients except tomatoes and water in medium sized bowl. Place large head of cabbage in boiling water for a few minutes, remove core and remove individual leaves. Take a knife and cut through hard center of leaf, place meat mixture on leaf fold and roll leaf closed. Set in casserole dish, pour tomatoes and water over the top of cabbage and cover.
