Show 6 Thursday. Oct. The Helper Journal 10, 1974 Dino homecoming spoiled by Red Devils celebration last Friday night with a 1 victory 36-2- over the Dinos in Region Six football action. Carbon made a real battle of the game in the second half in after falling behind the first half. Actually it was two Springville touchdowns late in the initial half that put the Carbon team behind, the last one coming on the final play of the half. 0 The visitors took a lead but Carbon came back 8 to cut the margin to when Greg Mele took a short screen pass from quarterback John Borla and made a sensational run down the sidelines to go 43 yards for the Carbon score. Phil Howa plunged for the two point conversion in the second quarter and the Dinos were back in the ball 26-- 8 14-- 14-- game. A lapse on the part of the Dino defenders as the clock ground down to the close of the first half allowed the Red Devils to push over the two touchdowns to take out the 26-- 8 halftime lead. Carbon completely outplayed the Red Devils in the second half, scoring two touchdowns and an extra point while the Springville team added one more TD and a final second field goal.
