At that election 592 voters cast ballots with 329 voting in favor of the gas ordinance, and 263 opposing the gas ordinance. As a consequence of the results, Mountain Fuel Supply Co. can exercise the rights accorded it by Helper City Council with its adoption of Ordinance No. 436, which grants the gas company a franchise to Install natural gas distribution lines within the city.
