UTAH 42 Recorder Tenders Resignation Effective Jan. 1; Bonacci Picked TO BE ELECTED Joseph Bonacci, present city councilman, was last week officially informed by the Helper City council that effective January l, 19",2, he will tie the city recorder, to fill the vacancy then to exist by the resignation of Albert Cook, incumbent recorder. The queen and her two attendants, who will reign over the gala Homecoming celebration Saturday, October 27 will be chosen today by an election to be held at Carbon Senior high school, according to the publicity depar- At the regular meeting held last week Mr. Cook's 'letter of resignation was read fand accepted by the cjty offi- cials. Mr. Cook gave as his rea 1 son that he had e Imiad for em- Albert Cook ployment in the San Francisco Bay area after the first of the year, and felt that he should inform the council promptly so they might pick another man to assume the duties of 'the recorder's office, and that he would have an opportunity to instruct the appointee with the multiple duties entailed in the proper functioning of the office. After due consideration it was unanimously agreed by Mayor D. K. Downey and the five members of the council that Mr. Bonacci be appointed to the post. Mr. Bonacci is serving his 22nd month of a two year term of councilman, and it was the opinion of the city officials that with his background of knowledge about the administration of city affairs received during this time coupled with his previous experience as an employee of the city's water departmental wuld qualify to administer the office as well as is being now done by the present recorder, Mr. Cook.
