Ho not be left out of this issue. It comes out next Tuesday. & t Jew light and power rates Were released by the Helper city council Monday which will he effective on the December municipal statement. The rates have been reduced following a new contract with the Utah Power & Light company, local product r, which was signed some time aro but not made effective to the consumers until the schedule was revised. With the adoption of the new rate basis by the city, the direct t pecuniary gains from the reduced power costs secured under the with the power company will be passed on to the consumers and the greater majority of consumers will benefit from this action. Approximately $3,000 will be saved the consumers each year under . this revision. An outstanding feature of the new schedule is the one meter principle for the residential users. Although consumers of Helper are generally on a two meter billn.g ior power and light, the total bill will now be determined by averaging the reading on the light and power meteis. On commercial light and power, the reduction is one half cent per kilowatt hour on the graduated scale of consumption. Residential light will now be one cent lower and power one half cent lower. Persons wbo have questions about the new schedule are advised to contact the office of Ernest Flaim, city recorder, or the city Charles James. Following are various rates as approved and adopted by the city council with the old rate shown for comparison: COMMERCIAL SCHEDULE Old Kate New Rate LIGHT RATE 9c (First 100 kw. hours) 8c (Second 100 kw. houisj 7c 6VjC (Third 100 kw. bourB) ' POWER RATES , 1.00 per borse-powe- r demand minimum or 3Vc per Kw. tlee-tricia- legion Carnival Tonight & Sat 7c CARMEN'S UNION HAS ANNUAL ELECTION CHARLES MASTERS WILL HEAD MEMBERS The election of officers for the coming year for the members of Railway Carmen of America local union was conducted last week and Chailes Masters was named president of the group.
