Show Helper, Carbon County, Utah, airday, March lo, LADIES HOLD CARD PARTY AND BANQUET The Ladies of the Moose celebrated their seventh annual anniversary with a banquet and card party at the K. of P. hall Monday evening, at which a large number was present. The dinner was served at 8 o'clock, followed by playing of five hundred. St. Patricks colors were carried out thruout the room. Musical numbers were presented by Harry and Woodrow Clark, Jimmie Greener and Dome-ni- c Bonacci. Prizes were awarded to Mrs. C. Hreinson of Castle Gate and to George Barnett of Price for high, and to Mrs. George Weight of Price and L. G. Riche of Helper for low. MOOSE By MARION BONACCI 3 ST. PATRICKS DINNER AT CRESTO HOME The members of the Altar society held their business and social , yneeting Sunday evening at the rtiome of Mrs. A. J. Cresto. After a short business session the hos-teserved a charming dinner which was carried out in St. Patricks scheme. The table was with a beautiful lace cloth over green silk, with the center piece being a lovely bouquet of r white carnations. -- ss NEWLY WEDDED TEACHER HONORED AT BANQUET Mr. Ralph Thompson of Helper, teacher in. the local schools, who was wedded to Miss Ruth Watson of Provo Friday, was the honored guest at a banquet given in the Grill banquet rooms Tuesday evening by faculty members and a few of his friends. The repast was served at 8 o'clock by the Grill cafe, the tables being centered with large bowls of beautiful roses. The evening was spent socially, with a very interesting program being enjoyed during the fore part. Guests enjoying the evening with Mr. Thompson, who proved to be a most genial host and the recipient of many lovely gifts, were Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Wardell, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Caseman, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Fjeldsted, the Misses Ruby Bean, Kathryn DeRegis, Ivy Memmott, Vera Rasmussen, Fae and Rae Christensen, Orpha and Thelma Faylor, Ella Ward, Gladys McCoy, Thelma Rask, Mary Man- cini, Margie Myers, Jessie Lange, Mary Llewellyn, Evelyn Jones, Ann Siefke, and Helen and Peggy Flynn; Messrs. Carl Olsen, Clifton Memmot, Halbert Graeves, Frank Jonas, Ernest Flaim, Thurman Carter, Bruce Moffit, Joe Dalpiaz, James Ruggeri, John Allison, Carol Gease and Alex Littlejohn. LOIS MAE SPRATLING IS COMPLIMENTED Mrs. George Spratling was hostess Thursday afternoon when she entertained at a delightful birthday party at her home here in compliment to her daughter Lois Mae. A prettily arranged St. Patricks scheme was carried out in the decoration. A lovely birthday cane enhanced with six little pink candles with green trimmings was prepared for the occasion, the hostess being assisted by Mesdames Acel Miner, Paul Pessetto, Pete Milano, and Miss Maxine House. The guests enjoying the jolly afternoon with Miss Lois Mae were Barbara Whitemcre. Mc-Com- b, CLUB PRESENTS MUSICAL PROGRAM MARCH 9 The Womens club of Helper held its regular monthly meeting at the club Utah Service association rooms Thursday afternoon, March 9, with a large number of members and visitors present. The mu- sical program was under the direction of Mrs. J. Charlesworth. Mrs. Roy G. Woodhead presented the works and life of Frederick Choplin Fowling on the piano, and musical numbers were as follows: Valse, Posthumous, Mazurka, Opus 33 No. 4; Nocturne, Opus 9 No. 2; Palonaise, Opus 26 No. 1. WOMEN'S G. A. P. A. OBSERVE HOLIDAY The local G. A. P. A. lodge is sponsoring an Independence day celebration in the Grill banquet rooms Sunday, March 26, with a banquet and dance. SURPRISE PARTY FOR MRS. BRUNO Mrs. Joe Bruno was pleasantly surprised at her home Thursday evening when a few of her friends called to help celebrate her birthday. The evening was devoted to dancing and playing of games, after which, a delicious luncheon was enjoyed. The Business and Professional Womens club held its regular business meeting at the city hall Monday evening. A social party is being planned for Monday, Mar. 27, for members only. The Flynn funeral home had charge of interment in the Price city cemetery, with services under the direction of the Italian lodge of Helper.
