The well coached Dart team set up a defense that the Beetiggers were unable to solve and went on to outscore the Jordan ites from the field and from the free throw line. Davis scored first but fell behind in the early part of the first period and trailed 13 to 12 at halftime. A free throw by Taylor and quick baskets by Purdy and Carter Cowley put the Darts in front as the second half got under way and from there on out their superior ball control kept them in front. Purdy led the scoring for the Davis team with a low 8 points as the entire squad functioned as a unit with no player stand· ing out above the others. A family dinner was served at 3 p. m. Daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Wood Beckstead, Mrs Beckstead was born Jan. 17, 1866. She was married to Henry W Beckstead March 30, 1882, in the old Salt Lake Endowment house of the LDS church. Mr & :Mrs Beckstead were par· ents of 11 sons and daughters, eight of whom are living. Mr Beckstead died 43 years ago. Sons and daughters are Clyde H, Ben D, Fred and Earl Beck· stead, South Jordan; Mrs Birdie Mae Webb, West Jordan; James Beckstead and Mrs Sadie BLind· gren, Salt Lake City, and Mrs Jennie Rindlisbach, Vanadium, New Mexico.
