U he is to achieve a satisfactory adjustment to his environment, he must acquire through habit a proper set of attitudes. In those cases where he already has bad habits or tendencies to misbe· havior, the only hope of his overcoming them is substitution of better ones. Here is where Scouting comes in. Scouting provides able leader· ship for boys. 'It also provides instruction and activities in worth· while fields of endeavor. The boy scout learns the lessons taught by nature; he learns the necessity of cooperation and obedi· ence to rules; his laws provide an ethical and moral code for him to follow; he is trained in leadership and he is taught to respect authority; in fact, in Scouting he is being taught the the past was the sponsoring of the Boy Scouts in this district.
