Gee whiz, today is the end of school, and a w hole 3 m onth's vacation are in store for all the scholars. T hat's pretty hard to take isn't it? Ha! local junior high school graduation was held in the audi~ torium Tuesday night. Valedictorians were plentiful this yea-r, with LaRue Vincent and Beryl J ones sharing the honors . LaRue is a daughter of Mr & Mrs N J Vjn. cent and Beryl is a daughter of Dr & Mrs J 0 Jones. The Everyone seemed to have an excellent time at the Jordan senjor p r ogressive. They, as usual, went early and stayed L-A-T-E! All employees of the Jordan school district gathered together las t T hu1-sday night at the high school to honor Dr C N J ensen at ly her life was too short. She leaves scor es of friends a nd aquaintances besides her fine fam ily. Among the numerous showers held for Maurine Cash Watts, was one Monday night. Thirty-six people were jn on the merriment that reached the Bennett Cash home that evening. H ostesses were Mrs Barney White and Miss Alice Miller. Mrs Watts will leave soon to join her husband in Los Angeles, Calif. The newly organized sextet in Midvale is really getting plenty of very favorable comments . . . whether they know it or not. Singing with the group are Marilyn Nelson, Maxine Searle, RoL ayne Rasmussen, Joyce Rasmussen, Mrs Mitt Pederson and Mrs Vern Lester. It was very good news to hear that our friend, Lt Gordon Jensen was liberated from a German prison camp recen uy. Everyone is certainly anxious ·to see him priority is not quite as high as that of h is parents, wife, and lit tle daughter, Judy Kay. HARMONY CIRCLE FETES WOMEN OF SERVICE MEN Harmony Circle of the Methodist church epter tai n ed the mothers, wives and s isters of its men in the service, Friday evening. Small tables centered with red, white and blue candles were arranged in the form of a V, the mellow light from these candles supplemented by that from floor lamps, appropriately placed, formed a ve-ry attractive setting. The favors were mii:tature sailors, soldiers and marines, against a background of Old G lory. Lloyd Doman delivered the address of the evening, his subject was "Our Duty to the Returned Servicemen." Mrs Jack Davis sang 2 vocal numbers and Mrs Young presented a reading. Each mother was called upon to tell in what branch of the service her son is serving and to tell something about where he is and what he is doing.
